I am about to purchase the SPANX® Slim Cognito Shaping Mid Thigh Bodysuit Nude online~ and I see most of you prefer the "higher power" one, what are the differences between the "Higher Power" and "Slim Cognito Shaping Mid Thigh Bodysuit"?

What I''ve always been curious about is how do you get out of those things and then back INTO them when you have to pee during the reception? I guess some of them are crotchless, but I don''t quite get how that works well, either.

Ugh, I hated the one I wore. Hot, hot, sweaty hot. Blech.

But know that if you are hellbent on wearing one, they are available in crotchless, which is really not the wide open type, but the demure foldover type. This I didn''t know. They are more expensive, and I was rushed, so mine wasn''t that type and I found myself sweating and swearing after having to go to the bathroom. Blech, mine ended up in the trash.

My niece was in love with hers though. She had the more expensive one and thinks they rock the reception.

I think I paid something like $30 or $35 bucks for mine adn it went from just under my bra to below my knees. I tried to fold it up because I was paranoid that you could see it through the bottom double sheer part of my dress. I definately know it had to show when I was dancing. Blech...

The MOH paid $70 for the one my niece wore. And the one my niece wore wasn''t even a long one that went past her knees...unless she rolled them up, which I doubt. My niece kept talking about her Spanx for days. Thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.

But then again, I wasn''t a bride. I think it would be hard to wear a full body Spanx as a bride, unless you plan on doing a very discreet garter search.

I didn''t like the spanx I wore for my RD. It kept rolling down! So annoying. Since my wedding dress was A line, I didn''t wear it for the wedding (my long line bra gave me enough support).

I used the Slim Cognito one for my wedding, yesterday. I was so happy with it! It was light and not binding, and I was not too hot, even in the 100 degree tent. It flattens everything out, and it stays up. It has versatile straps to loop around your bra to keep it from rolling down. I didn't need them for this time, but I might use them another time. AND - it has a little hole in the right place, for going potty...so you don't have to undress and re-dress yourself. It's sorta expensive, but totally worth it.

I would get the slim cognito mid-thigh, it has straps that will prevent the spanx from rolling down (you attach it to your bra), it has a better fabric than the "higher power" so you can wear it with clingy fabric, and it has a slit for you to use the bathroom.

The straps are essential if you have a slim rib cage, but have a tummmy.
