Any of you know of south bay jewelers who will match internet prices or close to them?

The reason I''m asking is I really want a 1.80-2.00 (J, SI1 or SI2, eye clean, as square as possible) carat princess cut and I can find them for as low as 6500 -7000 online but b&m might be a different story. That''s doable on my budget since I''m not buying till August. Am I being unrealistic in thinking that a B&M can get me a princess cut for around that price? Have any of you gotten anything like that in the south bay and from whom? There''s a lot of postings on who is considered a good jeweler and who has "good" deals but that''s relative.

Your budget might be a little low for a 1.8-2.0 ct stone. Have you found something on the internet? Post the link and let's take a look. Joe Escobar in San Jose is a great place to start looking. Joe Escobar is a family owned high-end jewelry store with a large selection of everything. I don't think you'll find many mall B&M carrying stones in that size range.

Hi Peepa,

You can try The Diamond Broker in Los Altos. I just bought my fiance''s e-ring from them a little over a week ago, and they''re steller to work with. They''re not the typical mall jewler and don''t have alot on open display, but they have their inventory in back, and can show you all the loose stones and you can take your time and ask them any questions. I paid the same price to what the main internet retailers would charge for their diamonds, considering the dimensions and performance of the diamond, and they''re definately willing to work with you on price. But I felt that being able to see the diamond first hand was an added value and gave me a good piece of mind.

Their policies are about the same as any internet retailer as well. eg. 30 Day Returns, Lifetime Upgrade policy for the same value of your purchased diamond (no min upgrade amount), Buy backs, and free cleaning and repolishing of jewlery if you bought the jewlery/setting from them

If you go there you can ask for Paul, he was the associate that assisted me, but honestly everyone there is good to work with.

Sam
