Hey I know a lot of people on here LOVE LOVE hearts and arrows-and I like the way they look too.

forgive me I just would like some more information!

I was just wondering what is sooooo special about it? Is it just a type of cut? Is it a style that will not be continued? Does it look completely different than a plain old round ideal cut diamond? Does it sparkle more or sparkle less since there is more focus on seeing the hearts and arrows? When people look at it will they say, that's weird I see this weird pattern and not jst tons of sparkle? Do you pay more for it? Why do you pay more?[$$)]

I just don't know if this is a superior cut or diamond or whether people just like to clean look of it. It seems that rounds with lots of facets would sparkle more-BUT I am DEFAINTELY not an expert at all.

So anyone out there-can you help me?

it is a type of precise facet arrangement. the 'cut' is round brilliant, the facet arrangement or pattern, is hearts and arrows.

it will always be continued because of the high quality associated with it.

Does it look completely different than a plain old round ideal cut diamond?

the facet pattern looks different. under certain lighting conditions, this facet pattern will be more readily seen. a non-h&a stone will have more 'chaotic' faceting with bits and pieces of 'sparkle' reflecting off of the different facets. a h&a stone will have symmetrical and even areas of 'sparkle' reflecting off of the 'arrows' along with the other facets.

Does it sparkle more or sparkle less since there is more focus on seeing the hearts and arrows?

the amount of sparkle does not depend on the presence of h&a itself. there are many things that contribute to overall beauty (and the presence of sparkle) it is important to have a good crown/pavilion angle along with balanced minor facets (arrows) to have a great performing diamond.
the end result is not to have focus on the 'hearts and arrows' necessarily, but on a really beautiful diamond that performs well in most lighting conditions.

When people look at it will they say, that's weird I see this weird pattern and not jst tons of sparkle?

absolutely not. they will look at it and say 'that is the most sparkly diamond i have ever seen.' guaranteed. you will have people stop you to ask about it. so be prepared to tell them how important CUT is!

Do you pay more for it?

it depends. there are too many factors to even approach the possiblities here, but suffice it to say, you don't have to pay much more.

again, you don't have to necessarily. i will always pay more for quality and would never ever go back to buying just any diamond. there is a huge difference in a well cut diamond versus the average pedestrian cut.

people will absolutely recognize the quality of a superior cut. no doubt. h&a does not differ in the number of facets from the traditional rb, it just has them arranged symmetrically in the h&a pattern.

Why did you choose H&A?

because of the high quality. once you have seen a well cut stone, you will never want anything else.

, and once you see it ... there is no going back.

I am so spoiled that now I want even the tiniest of diamonds to be ideal ... in my opinon ... comparing an excellent cut diamond to a non excellent cut diamond, well ... they just look blagh

now, while at one time in my life I thought they did have some sparkle.

Comparing the two ... different leagues! It''s like comparing a Porsche Boxster to a Ford Pinto ... both cars, one is just alot nicer

than the other!
