Something positive- 3 babies in one year- not triplets!

Wow, that's quite a story! =)

That's a great story. It is more dramatic than that of one of my friends, but I will also share hers here since it is of the same genre. She had had an eleven year marriage in which she and her husband had been unable to conceive. That marriage was annulled. Her husband had also been married before and had two sons from his first marriage. They wanted a baby together but she had trouble conceiving as she had had with her first husband.

My husband and I invited them and another couple over to dinner on our screen porch one summer night when our adopted daughter was two. She was pretty cute. Both couples ended up adopting infants. This couple adopted an infant boy.

When the boy was a couple of years old they had to decide whether to adopt again or to try in-vitro fertilzation (IVF). They only had the financial means to adopt or to try IVF once, however. They decided to try the IVF- in part, I think, because my friend saw that her husband had biological children with another women. The IVF took and she got pregnant with twin girls. The pregnancy was awful. She had been a runner; she was very thin and athletic, but she developed pre-eclampsia and spent weeks in the hospital. (She said to me, "Pregnancy isn't what it's cracked up to be!".) Although it took a full year for her blood pressure to return to normal, the twins were healthy and she said she was the only person who had three children from only one pregnancy!
