What do y''all think of this diamond???

Actually, I saw this in real life recently...or one like it...and it was pretty! I couldn''t see the inscription at all with the naked eye, and it was a real challenge (for me) to make it out with a loupe.

It was sparkly, and the "tablet" shape of the stone made a really interesting pendant.

Something for everyone, I guess....

I think it was about 1.5cts. I do remember it was G, SI-1...

A table cut with something (more casual, at least in my comfort zone) written on it sounds cool.


Btw. wonder what weird diamond slice was this before being cut this way. I've seen some 'shavings' - relatively thin, long, more or less heavy but up to 2-3 cts, bought for use in a materials science lab. Don't ask what for - no idea. Only noticed they were gem grade - near colorless, SI of better considering flaws on the edges, and definitely less expensive than rough of similar quality makeable in traditional shapes.

There is a Company in NYC that started to offer this kind of diamond, and they claim they can supply this type on a regular and quantity basis...

I am sure they have to ask quite a lot for that, but i cant imagine the demand for that....

But who knows, maybe i am wrong...

Personally, I feel that you may as well use beautiful crystal or even CZ. But hey, that''s what niche markets are all about, they target the few consumers who would really like something like that.

Why, it's just a new cut. You know we have rounds, pears, aschers, hearts, etc., and now we have the "Moses" cut. Can't imagine why someone would buy the Moses cut, but thank "God" there's freedom of choice!!
