I was missing having a little “project” since my crochet rug reached mammoth proportions. On Facebook Marketplace I saw an unusual (absolutely gross says DH) birdcage that I thought could do with some renovation. I paid $50 for it. After some thought and research and lots of visits to Bunnings (a hardware store for non Aussies) and oh, $1,000 later I got started. Who knew it would take 5 types of glue to find one that stuck the timber shingles on the roof. Who knew dollhouse timber shingles were so expensive. Who knew how long it takes to glue 1,500 of them on! And then there was paint and paint brushes and spray cans of paint. Oh, and then it needed a stand with wheels for underneath and that needed a piece of timber and more paint. I needed stained glass paints to refresh the inserts, not cheap btw. So many little purchases add up don’t they.
Anyhow, this is still a work in progress but this I’m liking it.
Before photo and about half way photo.

one of the nicer things about working at Bunnings (or Mitre 10 for that matter) was when customers showed us photos of their finished projects
this is beautiful Bron
money, time, effort and love well spent indeed
