Thanks to everyone in advance for your comments to his post. I''m new to this, and I want to propose soon. I think I know my stuff, but this is the true test. I have a stone picked out, and I was curious to see what everyone''s thoughts are on this rock. How much brilliance will there be? What is your suggested price I should be paying?

GIA cert

Color G
SI 1 (eye clean)
Excellent Cut Grade
Depth: 60.7%
Table: 58%

Lower Half: 80%

If you want to compare prices, try doing a search under "prices" or check on bluenile (they have a tonne of stock so you''re likely to find a comparable stone). That''s really the only way to figure out if a price is fair.

Thanks. I''m hoping someone will have some "expert" advice on angles and percentages on here that can hopefully give me some insight into whether this particular stone falls into an "ideal" category of brilliance. I''m a numbers guy. I can''t help this..

Angles are fine

pa=40.7 btw

Put those figures into HCA and see what score you get. Reject all >2

Table''s a bit on the large side

Polish could be better

Make sure it''s optically symmetric, closely scrutinize idealscope images and H&A images etc if you''re anall like me

hummm $7,000 - $7,500 is a reasonable online price for this

Looks potentially good, as Ech says, the polish could be improved on although it is said polish and symmetry of Good and above looks the same to the untrained eye. The table is slightly larger than we usually see, but in all it could be a very nice rock, ask for an Idealscope image to confirm.

Yes.

And pics would be good, but it''s definitely got potential.
