I've been a regular visitor to SAV since it started. It was interesting, then it got crazy when a couple people were just being kept alive and basically tortured by their praying spouses, for what, I don't know. There was one woman who just died a long, horrible death that no one should experience. There are several completely over-the- top anti-vaxxers out there and it's mind boggling! Some commenters are pretty funny, but others just cheer for death, and I find those comments hard to like. While most of these crazies brought it upon themselves, I just can't cheer and wish for their demise. It certainly has opened my eyes to a sad, brainwashed, uneducated, gullible segment of society.

I read something that said the "health care professionals" is a loosely used term and those who didn't get vaxxed etc. (for no sound medical reason) lean very heavily on the lower educated end of those labelled "professional."

Not to be snooty but I think it makes sense because of course it's the less educated people who are victimized by the disinformation the most. Someone with more medical training would likely understand the science behind it all.

I'm at the point where if someone chooses not to get the vaccine and actively spreads false information, I feel nothing if they die, even if it's someone I personally know. Don't care if they leave behind a young family, as their family and close friends typically reflect the same mindset. They made their own choices, and hospitals should have the right to reject service.

The only people I feel sorry for are those who did everything they can to protect themselves and still got very sick, or people who have died/will die because medical procedures were postponed/cancelled due to lack of space.

At my mom’s nursing home there are occupational and physical therapists and nurses that wouldn’t get vaccinated. Now there’s a mandate for the vaccine here. I expect them to leave in droves. My former cardiologist told me that he had to pay his nurses to get vaccinated. I really don’t understand it. If they can’t get vaccinated for a health or risk reason I understand..but he said no..They are perfectly healthy educated people that simply don’t want to put “chemicals” in their body.

i don't understand this
and here it seems to be midwives not getting vaxed

but at my work where no one has been to university (although we do have a couple of bakers with trade qualifications) we only have two people across three branches and the bakehouse that are unvacinated -and those two are just regular middle class ladies
actually im pretty sure a few of my workmates didnt finish high school but they still are vacinated and are provacine

It's such a thin list, tbh -- like a few a week. I thought it would be celebs or right-wing anti-vax talk show hosts -- plenty of those dead from COVID. But this is just a bunch of sad randos so the list could easily be in the hundreds of thousands.

Nearly all the recent deaths and hospitalizations in the US have been among the unvaccinated -- and they were not "still on the fence"; they were, by definition, anti-vaxxers (OK, apart from the one-in-a-million legit allergy). Whether they just say it to their poker buddies or blast it out to their million subscribers, virtually every one of those dead have been anti-vaxxers influencing others to follow their stupid lead. Really sad and tragic. And when you tack on all the needless deaths and delays in care for non-COVID-related illness (bypass surgery, cancer treatment, etc.) because the hospitals are overflowing with the willfully ignorant, it is hard to sustain empathy.

And in much of the US, the vaccinated are not even eligible for the scarce disease-modifying antibody-based therapies because the very limited supplies are reserved (reserved!) for the prone-to-dying unvaccinated. This is not an urban legend. (The vaccinated may technically be "eligible," but they are prioritized so low that they will never see it.) Imagine if you could not get a blood transfusion because they are saving it all for the yahoos who blow themselves up with homemade bombs on the 4th of July...

Majority of the people we have lost in our life have been anti-vaccine. However, I have recently seen vaccinated people who have Covid be offered the antibody treatment through Kaiser, as well as being able to pay out of pocket for the treatment through clinics here in So Cal.

I do not understand why people refuse it at this point. Haven't we all seen enough unnecessary death from Covid? Yet people still believe you are being injected with a tracker, magnet, going to turn into a crocodile, it alters your DNA. None of that is true!
