Some "issues" with the sparkles...

Hi guys, a bit of a background, I usually was not a jewelry person, but last week for the first time I got a simple lovely diamond ring, or a cluster ring you could say. It's 7 small stones forming a daisy- the center stone is kind of dipped compared to the petals - 6 tiny prongs. I love it, it's VVS, G color and approx 0.35 twc.

I cleaned it today, with the dishsoap and toothbrush method and it sparkles like crazy now - esp under the lights. I should be happy right, and I am (I can't stop looking at it), but it sparkles so much it doesn't really look like a flower anymore? It baffled me cos it means the diamonds must have been dirty when I got it, but... yeah.

Actually I don't know what's the purpose of this post, I guess I'm just confused. Is this a good thing? Is it normal with a flower-shaped ring for this kind of thing to happen? On one hand I love my sparkles, but I love my daisy too!

Thoughts? :)

No thoughts I guess except clean ring is always better than a dirty one IMO (even at the risk of losing some sort of shape that you desire).

I'd say that maybe you should consider other gemstones for a flower ring if you are not liking the sparkle of diamonds. I don't see dirty diamonds as ever being attractive.

Dirty diamond...never a good thing.

That's right. I'm planning to regularly clean it too now. The outer diamonds are pretty much flush with the center one and it has no additional inner prongs so I guess that's why the shape looks less flowery.

It's not that I don't like it - the sparkles are very attractive. I guess I'm just a tad confused by the fairy sprinkles! Haha. Though the diamonds were already sparkling before I cleaned them, so I didn't think there would've been that much difference after.

It likely wasn't supposed to look like a flower-- it was supposed to look like one larger diamond. So that's what you're getting...if you want a floral ring that's something different than a cluster ring.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure it's meant to look like a flower. Saw a bunch of similar designs online. But I get what you mean about it looking like a bigger diamond, as some people say cluster rings are. But I love my ring so I guess I'm just still getting used to wearing a diamond, ha.

Sorry for the LQ pics - took it with my phone. But this is what my adorable little ring looks like - couldn't capture the sparkles though.

^Is it just me or does it seem like the setting is off a bit? The diamonds on the lower right hand side look like they are set in further (making the shape appear more round) as opposed to the diamonds on the upper left that appear to be set further out, which makes it seem more flower-like in shape on that side.

It still looks floral to me! The idea of something dirty on your hand, an appendage you use to touch everything, is scary. Continue cleaning it especially if you're cooking ;))

View it in defused lighting like cfl florescent bulbs and it will look more flower like than under direct lighting.
In other worlds lighting matters :}

Its very pretty but I think its suppose to look like a single big
stone which all the sparkles will help it do. I think if was meant
to have more the flower look then the center
stone would be bigger with the petals being smaller diamonds.
