Some feedback on Engagement ring Purchase please? -.-

Hi everyone!!!! This site is a God send for me I must say. ïŠ Iâ€™ve learnt so much in the past few weeks, thank you fellow members. I am now in the state of being really overwhelmed, information overload. I am on here reading night and day and really need some help now.

Here is a bit about my storyâ€¦.. 6 months ago Iâ€™ve spent some time at Spence in Toronto researching for an engagement. Things didnâ€™t work out as planned there so I began doing a lot more research in my spare time the last few weeks. Thank goodness I did someone research.

I have narrowed down a few diamonds I have been looking at and was hoping I could get some feedback or even suggestions. Really trying to get the most bang for my buck given my budget restraints.

My budget is: $3500-3800US (Diamond + Setting)
Note I am from Canada so I need to work in the conversion and tax
$3500-3800 x 1.12 exchange x 1.13 tax + shipping.

Carat: 0.70ct

Here are some selections I have narrowed down to from WF and BN.

WF:

1. 0.733 ct H VS1 Whiteflash ACA (HCA 1.1)

Comments on WF:

Seems like they donâ€™t have much selection for 0.70ct in the WF ACA H&A, is there a big different in their ES? I really want the best cut I can get. Should I change my criteria for color and clarity to get the H&A cut or just go for there ES? I had to sacrifice some color here. I was hoping to get colourless. F and up. Maybe H is just as good and I am no understanding things. I really just want to make sure the diamond is â€œeye cleanâ€ and as white as possible.

ATM I am leaning to #2 from BN. I like the extra size I get and it seems like crystals are ok? That part I donâ€™t really understand. Some have cloud, needle point and all that, not sure how to interpret that affect that has on the quality of the diamond. I would love to hear anyoneâ€™s suggestion THANKS!

Ok, these all look great, just to mention as you might want to factor this into your decision, both are excellent vendors but BN do not offer an upgrade policy should that ever be a consideration whereas WF do. Also if you want a diamond which is proven to be h&a then the WF stone is the one to pick, BN don't offer images as you may know. But they all look very promising, it depends on your preferences as to which to choose.

With the various inclusions as these diamonds are VS clarity I don't think you need to be worried. Crystals are fine, just make sure they can't be seen ( unlikely but doesn't hurt to check) if you prefer that diamond.

You don't necessarily have to be compromising much with an ES diamond. Sometimes these stones miss the ACA mark for (very picky) reasons a layman would never see. There can be very beautiful choices in this area with great performance. This one could be such a diamond, and keeps you at your desired color. It's a very well cut stone.

Dislak: Thanks for fixing my links. I think I figured it out this time

Lorelei: Thank you for your feed back. I share your thoughts on how BN does not have images. It seems like anything I choose from there I will have to have a degree of faith as well. I have spoken to WF and their service is awesome. Just for that I am really hoping to buy from them, but so far there selection for my budget is a bit limited given my requirements. So I''ll have see what I can to make things work there.
