Hi all,
Been looking for a few weeks and learning a bunch!
I am not in a rush so taking my time and learning.
My GF has small fingers and is low maintenance.
She loves thicker bands...such as Tiffany''s etoille.
as i look here more and more my budget goes up.(working hard)
So I could possibly be around 5000.
The setting alone is around 2 grand. I have been
looking at Caleb Meyer''s settings and I love them.
When we tried Tiffany the stone was .61 and she loved it.
I was looking at closer to 3/4 carat. but do not know if I
can swing it. Still not comfortable lower than G and VS2.
And will this stone be lost in that setting. He does have a
.38 in one of his settings (not going that low!) and it looks fine.
Sorry to ramble but I''m up to my ears in % and IS''s.

Sorry if this repeats third time typing.
That is the setting she likes. In Platinum they are close to 2 grand.
and for that I want to give her a Caleb Meyer setting. I love his 990 and 1961.
So that leaves me around 2500 to find a diamond ranging from .6 to .75.
I am not mind clean on SI''s. and would rather have colorless stone down to G.
Is H that much of a difference?
Nervous about a .65 diamond in a bezel setting
thanks

ok- are you in the states? if you are, I highly recommend checking out diamonds that are ideal at a B&M store, like Jareds the Peerless collection to see the difference in Color from a G and an H many may not distinguish the color even at I. The bezel will add to the size nicely. But here are just a few that you prefer G VS2. If you are open to a lower color down to H or I and down to SI1 then your budget will allow a slightly larger stone just a thought.

also are these the two rings you are considering? I''ve heard but I don''t know for sure if Caleb Myer takes outside stones but best to check with him if you are considering one of his piece to commission him before you have your heart set on his ring.

Those are the 2 settings. Caleb Meyer was closed today so I was looking to call them
on Wednesday. I have seen those stones from JA and a few from Whiteflash. I guess I''m just looking for reassurance about H color. and with clarity I guess I would have to talk to the vendor. I am not in a rush, doing my DD. Just a little anxious and don''t want to compromise too much. I want a unique setting for my GF, something that portrays our love. So hopefully he will be able to work for me and be affordable.

I can't tell the difference between reliably graded G and H colours, if you aren't sure look at some Peerless of these colour grades if there is a Jareds near you, this might give you some reassurance.
