Hi,
I bought a pair of nice bright bluish-green Afgan Tourmalines, and I've decided instead of doing something with the two of them, I'd rather sell them and find myself a larger, single stone.
I bought the two stones together as a pair, and they are almost identical...however, due to their very slight difference in color, I've decided to sell them separately, if someone only wants one of them. Afgan Tourmalines are different than other varieties of green Tourmalines, in that there is no grey component in any light. These stones are always bluish-green, and there is no yellow at all in either stone.
Both stones are within one mm of each other as far as length and width. They are precision-cut, fancy octagons with scissor-crowns and double-bar cut pavillions. The dimensions are 9.3x4.7 and 9.2x4.6. Only if you look very closely can you see the difference in color. One stone is a solid bluish-green, while the other is bluish-green aside from the last 1/3rd of the gem which is a tiny bit more blue than the rest of the stone. As earrings, I dont think anyone would tell...if you were doing a ring with both stones, perhaps someone would notice, but regardless, the stones are both beautiful. One weighs 1ct and the other 1.25ct as it is slightly deeper. Both are precision cut so they look fantastic.
I have the 1.25ct stone with the slight bi-color priced at $100 and the 1.00ct stone priced at $80...excellent pricing for these type of stone.
Among other stones, I'm also offering a very cool, unique, and beautiful Texas-Star Precision-cut Oregon Sunstone, which is a sizable 10MM round, for $119 and a very nice matched pair of 7x5 Golden-Peachy Grossular Garnet ovals for $50. I bought a parcel of 4 pairs of these garnets and this is the last, cleanest VVS pair that I was going to keep for myself...a real find!
