I recently purchased this lovely stone (second-hand) with the intent to make it into a 3 stone ring, but changed my mind. I realize that I'm more of a diamond kind of girl. 
I don't have any information on the origin of the stone, but Barry's spinels are usually from Tanzania. It measures 6.5mm in diameter. The color of the stone shifts slightly in natural to incandescent lighting. The color is hard to capture in photos, but it is a rich blue with a hint of teal in natural sunlight. In incandescent lighting, it becomes more of denim-blue color with a hint of grey. Clarity is eye-clean. It would look lovely in a ring or pendant!
