if you are hankering after a great pinky-purplish gem but don't want to spend those crazy spinel prices, than please have a squiz at my listing for this gorgeous and large Gary Braun old mine style cushion cut Rhodolite, currently up on DB:

It is 5.89cts, 10.5mm and IF clarity.

The colour is rich and flashy, exactly what you want in a rhodolite and in a rare combo of great size and IF clarity.

It is always difficult to put up a gem from one's collection..once you start describing it and looking at the photos etc, you recall why you fell in love in the first place!

But ah well..as long as it goes to a loving home where it will be worn or enjoyed in a collection I'll be happy

He he, it was me!! I bought it - couldn't resist such a gorgeous stone .

I may start a thread in the Coloured Stones forum to ask for ideas on how to set it.
