Solasfera

Greetings all.

I need you''re opinion. My original thoughts were to go with a channel setting for an asccher of 1.26, f, exc,exc. The channel I was looking at was a Solasfera channel of .56 TCW.

Do you think there would be a big difference in f vs G stones in this type of setting ?

Do you think a 3 stone setting would look nicer and more bling. Namely, say 2 smaller asschers one on each side of the center stone ( .25 ) and then the round Solasfera''s going down each side from there ?

My objective is too accent the Asscher so a small thin band with a ton of sparkle is really what I''m after.

I like trilliants or half moons better in a 3 stone than triple asscher but my favorite is a narrow band with round melee solitaire.

Love that photo and the advantage is that it looks like you could do bands on one one side or both without too much of a gap.

To answer your question, I think that the majority of side stones used in melee are G, H, or I color. No, I don''t think it makes a difference, especially if the melee are Solasferas. I like both the straight melee shoulders or the 3-stone idea. I chose a 3-stone for my upgrade with trilliants and love it.

Here is a Solasfera 3-stone with rounds shown on the GOG website. It would look great with Asschers. This one is not channel-set though.

Thanks for the reply. This mount is for an asscher that you looked at ( and gave the thumbs up) about 6 months ago. Now is the time for the mount.

I agree with you on the band. I would like to go with a really thin channel with some smoking rnds in it but Im really having trouble finding small stones at a level F, especially in say a 3ish mm band.

Do smaller rounds face up brighter...would hate to accent a F stone in yellow

Thank you for you''re reply. I did notice that mount.In fact the mount I was looking at I believe was just after. I was a little worried about the larger rnds but I''m sure you have way more experience than me in this matter

My opinion--I like the 3 stone. I think it would look great with 3 Asschers. The larger stone will pop anyway because it is larger and will be set a little higher.

Unless she specifically said she wanted channel set, I''d say to go with the other style, the 3 stone one. Channel setting is kinda metal-heavy looking IMHO, and is less likely to make the stone truly pop. But then, ask most of us chicks and we say "more diamonds, less metal" with just about every given option! (Channel setting is one that some of us really have strong feelings about- love or hate, pretty much, with not so much in between. It does stand up well to day-to-day wear well at least.)

In small stones, you aren''t going to notice much color difference between small melee and a center stone. G-H melee would look barely different than an F Asscher I suspect. Solasfera cut ought to make them pretty darn bright in terms of light return too.
