I didn''t feel this one at all!! So weird!

My friend who''s currently about 1/2 a mile from me felt it strongly, apparently.

Not as bad as the other, but another decent jolt.

Musey, you are too far north to be feeling it...apparently it''s LAX and south that are getting it good. Weird, because the South Bay isn''t known for being an epicenter. The earth is shaking underneath for sure!

I felt the one on Sunday, and I have a friend working in BH today who said he felt it. I feel so left out

Maybe we''re building up for the "big one" ....

Have you seen that Discovery Channel (or maybe History Channel? can''t remember) documentary on big SoCal quake they''re expecting any moment (i.e. sometime between tomorrow and 1,000 years from now, ha)?

Actually, it is sort of a trouble zone, just not as prominent as the San Andreas. The Newport-Inglewood fault is the troublemaker here. It''s the same one that caused the 6.4m 1933 Long Beach quake that killed 115. I''m hoping that these little ones are releasing some of the built up tension, and will prevent another one of that size, especially since I now live in LB!

I felt the one on Sunday at home very strongly. For today''s, I was at work in Costa Mesa and felt a more gently rolling movement, while DH at work in Torrance felt a big, single jolt. I''m kind of fascinated by how your location determines the type of movement you feel.

I was on the freeway. Typically you don''t feel a thing in a car.

As to Long Beach, rest your mind...the only reason people died was that the building codes were very lax back then. My old condo is in a historical 12 story building that was built in 1922. It went through the 1933 without a crack in the walls.

It''s going to take something over 6.7 before anyone is likely to be involved in any building collapses, if then.

Very true, most of the deaths were in public buildings and on landfill areas. My own house survived the ''33 quake, and with the solid Craftsman construction will hopefully survive plenty more. Doesn''t mean I really look forward to experiencing a "Big(ger) One", though. Northridge and Sylmar were quite destructive despite improved codes.

I felt the one today - the jolt felt bigger to me than the one on Sunday. Today I was in my office in Beverly Hills. There was a slight sway, then a jolt, then a little shake - and then I heard a crash (coming from another office down the hall).

On Sunday, felt it strong but quick, I live in Burbank. At work today, felt it again, I am on the 23rd flr, so it felt strong but quick as well, I work in downtown L.A.
