I had planned to cook a romantic meal for my husband, but found out that he will be working the entire day. He will also be working all day on my birthday this Tuesday

So my plans tomorrow evening will be to watch The Graduate and eat alone. Well, at least I''ve got a fantastic bottle of wine I''ve been saving

I live in Atlanta and my boyfriend lives out of town. I was going to drive up there after work Friday, but I got snowed in. In ATL!!! I can''t believe it! So, I will also be eating alone. But I couldn''t even go buy a bottle of wine on Friday! Poor me!

We celebrated today while our kids are gone for the night! Went to lunch and then saw a "Up in the Air." Later, we''ll kick back with a beer and watch another movie.

celebrating Chinese New Year.

I attempted home made steamed dumplings last night. The first batch was kind of a bust but the second time they were really good. I may have to make this a habit.

Well, he had a dozen roses waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday, so I guess we''ve already started celebrating! He''s such a sweetie!

Tomorrow, we''re going to shop for new cell phones. DH doesn''t know this yet . . . he''s been wanting a Samsung Moment for a while now, and his new phone is going to be his surprise V-Day gift from me! He''s sitting right next to me as I type this and he has NO idea! HAAAAhahahahahaha!!!

Then we''re going out to dinner at a REALLY good restaurant that we both love!

Got pink roses delivered today

not going out, our fave restaurant gets crazyon the 14th. I'm just going to roast a small rack of lamb and make individual molten cakes [DH's favorite]

Morton''s for dinner tomorrow. Yum!!! I can''t wait.

My hubby surprised me by sending me flowers at work on Friday...they were his free order since they screwed up his last order...haha.
He then tried to get reservations at an awesome restaurant we''ve wanted to try but was too late...he was going to surprise me with that.
So instead we are just going to cuddle at home. I bought a bottle of sparling rasp. wine, chco covered strawberries, and watching the olympics.

Plus I''m not in the mood for much since hearing about my grandpa.

we werent planning on doing much, until today i saw a beautiful lace dress on sale... and now we have to go out so i can wear it :) planning a low key relaxing day, got hubby some tools (no idea what kind), and in the evening we''ll go to dinner.

its going to throw a monkey wrench in my diet but thats ok- the dress is worth it :D

He''ll be working and I have Ultimate practice. So....we''re doing jack all.

We are taking our daughter to Disney on Ice. It is the "Princess Collection" so she is pretty excited to go! Hopefully they come off of the ice this year so she can have some interaction with one of the characters.. it seems to make the premium seats worthwhile at that point.

I soo feel you about eating alone. FI lives in Seattle while I''m in Tampa and I was suppose to leave today to fly out and see him....then I get the bad news that Delta canceled all the flights to ATL and there were no carrier for me to travel on since everything was booked. Grrr......I guess we can have our first V-day together when we''re married.....

Going to Hooters.

Woohoo!

My bf''s mother''s bday is Valentine''s Day and his family likes to go to Hooters and drink beer and eat wings. I do neither of those things, but hey, at least they will have basketball on right?

Our tradition is to pamper ourselves at home. We buy food... Sparkling wine or champagne (I've got an incredible french sparkling wine this year, sooooooooo good), caviar (paddlefish roe this year, and I love it, and the price) and garnishes, foie gras pate, prosciutto di parma (love costco) and melon, and a couple of our favorite cheeses, good bread-- dessert optional (this year we're just doing our favorite dessert wine). Flowers for me (no roses), candlelight... our Valentine's Day champagne flutes (Hoya crystal ones that DH bought me for our 3rd Valentines Day together). We don't usually do extensive or expensive presents... the very indulgent meal is a present to us both. Going out for V-day is so expensive and the mediocre pre-fix menu's aren't my thing, and we cook for nearly every other holiday so it's a lovely change of pace.

Valentine's day is a very relaxing evening for us. Just a long drawn out meal of treats and conversation. It suits us and we both look forward to it a lot.

I'm sorry you are spending the evening alone. My husband is working tomorrow too, but he'll be home at 7:00.

I told him I just wanted him to make dinner for me

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

DH is taking me to Jean-George's!!
18.gif
I'm starving myself beforehand, LOL! DH has been working extremely hard these past few months, esp the last few weeks, and has been quite stressed out, so it'll be a nice treat for him too.

Today DH and I went to see "The Sleeping Beauty", a ballet by Tchaikovsky.
Tomorrow - red roses and a cosy dinner
My oder son used to spend Valentine''s day with his girlfriend. Her name is Valentina. He later parted ways with her (his decision) but I think he now regrets it. So we shall stop by his house tomorrow just to support him.

Not much. Made J some brownies and will make a special(ish) dinner. Other than that, we're just going to hang out and take it easy. :)

Going to Hooters.
Lucky!

My young, fun self would love to take DH there but he''s too embarrassed to set foot in there

We''ll just be taking our "boys" to petsmart and buying them some treats

BF and are planning on making dinner together tonight, probably steaks with some sort of tasty side.
We could go to his parents house for dinner, but that doesn''t like it would be as much fun.

I used to live across the street, and they had good soup and also a disabled man would hang out there with his service Doberman and he''d let me pet him, so I''ve gone to Hooters alone a few times!

Hubs is cooking surf n' turf for us for dinner tonight!!! Cant wait!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!!!!
36.gif

Happy birthday (a little early) PA!

We don''t really celebrate Valentine''s Day but we did go out for breakfast this morning. I''m making lasagna now and we might make chocolate chip cookies later. Other than that, we''re watching the Olympics and my husband is playing hockey on his XBox. I just picked up a new book at the library yesterday, so I think I''ll start it soon.

DH and I went out for a casual lunch and saw "Valentines Day". We just finished eating dinner. We cooked(DH did most of it) salad w/"loveberries"(strawberries cut like hearts), boiled shrimp w/homemade cocktail sauce, fried shrimp, rolls, and got some to-go macaroni from Luby''s. We''re having molten chocolate cake for dessert.
18.gif
Nothing super fancy but it sure has been tasty so far!

Absolutely nothing! I was at least going to make a yummy dessert and open a bottle of dessert wine we got on our honeymoon, but I have a bad cold and figured I shouldn't make a really good dessert if I couldn't really taste it
3.gif
I'll probably make it later this week or save it for the next week when I can have it on my birthday. But we're not really into celebrating VDay anyway.

Well, this day is also the anniversary of the death of my very bff, so it's a mixed day for me. My husband is a part-owner of a race horse and had to go visit the stable or whatever today so I stayed homs and watched the Snapped Valentines Day Marathon on tv--lounged in my jammies. My son actually got me a card!!! and when my husband came home we went out for a nice dinner.

I'm now on line because I jammed a dvd into the player and he's trying to fix it. Hope everyone had a nice day.....
