and looking through the new stuff at Art Cut Gems when my eyes became stuck on the pic of the rutilated quartz. Thumpity thumpity went my heart, mushy went my brain, and fastly (is that a real word?) went my hand to my credit card. I have no idea how a quartz becomes rutilated (sounds kinky to me) nor any idea why I had to have this nor any idea for goodness sake about what I'm going to do with 45.5 carats of it. But I like it :rodent: Vendor pic.

I dunno whatchathink I should do with it? Pendant? It's kinda big.

ooooo pendant! :appl: I would totally go with a pendant. I'd probably cap it in 14K gold because of how cool it would look with the needles.

I can certainly see why also - I LOVE it!

Gorgeous piece. I think a pendant with a gold cap, perhaps with 1 or 3 small bezel set accent diamonds would be stunning. The right designer will give it a unique twist.

Take a look at T Lee's work. I'll post an example from her website below. http://tleegold.com/

flygirl, that is gorgeous!!! The gold cap and accents would make that stone quite the statement piece. :appl:

What a crazy looking stone!
Amazing what Mother Nature can do!!!!

don't mean to threadjack but Weird ! I am not a Trade Person....

Matata - my vote (not that you asked) is a pendant. That design that FlyGirl posted would be unbelievably beautiful, though you'd probably find yourself competing for attention with your own pendant! I say go for it!

...and how healthy, wheaties!

Good thing I didnt get it. I would make it a knife handle!

So unusual... It will make a great pendant.

On a side note... From this day on, I am not eating my breakfast at the kitchen table! Desktop for coffee and cereals!

Cool stuff! A bit large for a pendant but great for a (office) work table centerpiece.

Awesome! I would keep it in the office and stare into it during conference calls. =)
