So now I've got two RBs in solitaire settings...too matchy?

Hi there,
As some of you know, a couple of months ago I was lucky enough to 'achieve' a 3.14 ct MRB, that I wear as a RHR.
Not uncoincidentally, the stone and the setting is extremely similar to my e-ring - MRB, in solitaire six-claw, a plain yellow gold band.
Hey, I like yellow gold.

But.... now I have a little sister e-ring (1.6ct plain tiffany style solitaire) and the big sister ring (3.14 plain yellow gold solitaire), apparently the same in all respects except size, one for my left and one for my right.
It would be nice to mix it up a bit.
(I did anticipate this dilemma heheh)

So... if you had two RBs, what did you do?
I'm thinking of swapping my e-ring stone up for an oval...?
Even a pear...?

Didn't want to swap the rings and wear the 3.14 as my e-rng against my 10-pointer eternity band and plain wedder, as the diamond seemed too big.

Another alternative would be micropave around the 1.6ct e-ring diamond, whilst retaining the plain yellow gold shank?

Not sure I want to go the three-stone route for my e-ring as just love the solitaire look!
Don't want to halo or three stone the bigger one, as that would be OTT for my circumstances...

and to think, some people have REAL problems :naughty:

love to hear your creative advice, anyway!!

You could keep your e-ring a solitaire, as is, and turn your other solitaire into a three stone RHR. That's what I'd probably do. Or you could have a pendant made.

Beautiful rings, by the way!

I would change the 1.6ct to a 3 stone ring or halo it. I love the idea of a pendant, also!

I like these suggestions!

It would make a beautiful haloed pendant!

I believe in one ring to rule them all, so I would make the smaller stone a pendant. Or I would make it a three stone with pear or RB sides and wear the three-stone on the RH, just because that is what I would like.

Lara, I'm in the same boat - I'm just really consistent in terms of what I like! So my anniversary ring is basically a scaled-up version of the original e-ring. Sure, there are subtle differences - baguette sidestones vs. marquise, a cross-bar vs. an open gallery, transitional vs. MRB - but at the end of the day, it's two J VS stones in fishtail settings.

As much as I want to be the person who wears both, it actually does look a little off to me, so I tend to alternate them. I *was* thinking about resetting the e-ring to a different style: I found an amazing die-stamped octagonal setting that I adore that could be modified to fit it, and I just got a new solitaire that would make for a *very* different look ... but my husband's proven to be unexpectedly sentimental about the original, and I'm actually kind of touched. So I just try to make sure to rotate them every couple of days/weeks, which is actually good for me, because it means I go through the *rest* of the roster, too. Until I started doing this, I was letting my poor rough diamond rings languish!

thanks for the replies girls! I really appreciate it!
I must have tuned in to the PS 'communal mind' because ast night after posting I came out all in a rash for a three stone upgrade to the e-ring.I saw Logan Sapphire's beautiful three stone (the pic where she is wearing with her rolling ring) and My God It Is Stunning.
But now, after a good night's sleep, I'm back to loving solitaires again. *shrugs*

Luckily, this is a topic I enjoy mulling over!!

Perhaps the choice - if I did go for a change - is oval (set east-west) vs three-stone!

I'm suspecting that at the end of everything, it might all stay exactly as is!
After getting it all off my chest last night, I'm actually *appreciating* the matchiness, they are family rings after all, and really are kind of a set!

I would turn the 1.6 into a 3 stone ring

I had put a cushion halo on my smaller one =)

interesting.... you're saying you used tiny cushion stones to create the halo?
No, wait - what you mean is that you haloed in a square shape around the RB sol, right? 8)

Yes, a cushion shaped halo around the RB, inspired by Mayk's beautiful ring. I wanted the two rings to look completely different :D
