I just took a plunge and bought an oval diamond... on eBay!

Now before all the warnings start, know that i have purchased several nice diamonds on eBay before, and all those results have been WONDERFUL. Best of all, this seller is somewhat local to me, about an hour away, so I get to inspect it first and match the inclusions and laser inscription to the GIA report before handing over the cash! We''re meeting at the Sheriff''s Dept. lobby, so it will be safe for both of us!!

I just need some luck wished my way, so I dont drive all the way over there and find out they stood me up because they had a change of heart. Afterall, it was a *darned* good deal! I''m sooo excited!

I'll be careful driving. traffic shouldn't be too bad from L.A. to Riverside before 1pm, and afterwards, i should be going against traffic so it shouldn't be too bad either. I'm sooooo nervous tho, for some reason. Guess it'd really suck if i drive so far and they flake. At least if they're shipping it to me, i would just worry about them not sending it at all... but i wanted to inspect it first.

I wonder what the Deputies would think when they see me with a loupe and a flashlight? Oh, i'm also bringing a toothbrush and a bottle of water, just in case the ring's dirty. I figure it's easier to see the inclusion and look for chips and stuff when it's clean, but it should be okay. hopefully!!

Good luck to you, I can''t wait to see your pictures! I just want to add that I have sold jewelry in the past (including diamonds) on ebay and given people some really good deals on some nice stuff...not all of the jewelry and people on ebay are bad, LOL. I hope that it all works out for you
