Serious? I''ve never heard of such a thing, and hmm. That''s just odd. Did you look in your mouth? Tonsils are visible. Are they gone? That''s crazy odd. My goodness, that''s something. I''ve never had a ''girly'' dr. make me go, ''ahh'' and look in my mouth, either. Maybe my dr. is neglecting my tonsils.
Are we still talking tonsils?! Or is that code for something of a more (cough) *feminine* nature?Date: 11/29/2007 7:02:19 PM

And he told me my tonsils had disappeared. So many jokes, so little time.....![]()

Seriously, he said they can just, go away. Kinda like, as he said, if you don''t use it, you lose it. (I thought that was MATH?!) Has anyone ever heard this??? Should he stick to things he knows about?? Retire??![]()

Can I ask ... was a SPECULUM involved in this ''tonsils exam''? Cuz that''s a heck of a distance ... maybe they were too small to see?![]()

ETA: Or ... have you been on vacation and woken up in a tub with a sore throat? Maybe one of those organ-snatching rings decided your tonsils were $$$$ in the bank!
That''s what he was implying Kaleigh. And like I said earlier, I had Strep NON STOP until I was 13, then never again.Date: 11/29/2007 7:43:53 PM

I had mine out quite late, they were diseased, to say the least. Have you suffered from many strep throats?? Could be they disinigrated on their own??
And since when does the gyno look in your throat?? So confused......
Well, consider yourself lucky?? Having mine removed was a B****!!!Date: 11/29/2007 7:49:45 PM

Tonsils?? My gyno never checked them! He is much too busy using his giant car jack!! And, he''s the kind who likes to crack jokes and talk to me. So, first time I try to crack a joke (during the breast exam I say ''so you ARE talking me to dinner, right?'') he gets all flummoxed. Maybe the tonsils would be an easier route....
Funny you should say this.. one of my ortho docs is quite tight laced.. and one of the patients is simply not.. so.. she was getting her shoulder checked on again on day.. and.. she went to take off her shirt for him, and.. she wore sparkly red pasties with tassles. It certainly helped him to loosen up. LOL NO ONE ever forgot it. He was as red as her pasties. LOL
I don''t know how I missed this thread until now! I had to tell my FI and he said, "well, maybe he was just being very thorough."Date: 11/29/2007 7:43:53 PM

My thoughts, preciselyDate: 11/29/2007 10:07:34 PM

So I gotta say my immediate thought when I read the beginning of this thread is that Ellen must be built *differently* than I am if her gyno can feel her tonsils from... um... *THERE*.
