Yes, If the crown/pavilion angles are right the stone can be beautiful. I have yet to see a Hearts & Arrows stone cut exhibiting 60/60 depth and table. There are certain characteristics of this cutting style which are optimized with tables ranging from about 53-58%, and also these stones would not generate the AGS ideal "0" grade because the table falls outside the AGS 0 range which most companies cutting branded stones try to achieve to optimize the premium price being paid for these stones.Date: 2/7/2005 9:27:31 PM

So essentially, if the crown and pavilion angles are right, the stone can look pretty darn good?
I also assume that a 60/60 stone could display hearts and arrows?
Thanks again![]()
If the stone looked nice and you were happy with what you saw go for it. 60/60 diamonds have an appeal of their own, and can be very beautiful...Date: 2/7/2005 10:35:28 PM

Josh, thanks again!
The reason I asked about the H&A is because one of the stones we saw definitely had arrows. So I completely understand it would never be an AGS0, but it would be nice to have a little arrow action too!! (I know the arrows were no where near prefect as the branded H&A stones around here, but still, the stone did look nice!)
Thanks for your help!![]()
i think the older generation jeweler''s prefer the 60/60 cut but the newer generation jeweler''s prefer the smaller tables.i had a 60/60 stone recut into a AGS 0 cut and very happy with the result.Date: 2/7/2005 8:45:56 PM

With one of my friends who is looking at round diamonds.
The jeweler was showing us various GIA certified stones and explaining the 4Cs. For cut, he urged 60/60 for depth/table. This isn''t the first jeweler who has told me that this is the ideal combination.
Why is this?
Thanks in advance!!
