I''m a little frustrated... it seems to be so hard to find wedding bands that are unique in 18K yellow gold!

I have a lot of time to look - but, it''s seeming that I may just need to get something really plain, or custom.

For you YG fans out there - who do you find has the best YG selection?

Also - do you find that all of your 18K YG matches with no problems? I tried on some 14K at the jewelry store the other day, and the color was waaay off. I''m thinking it''s probably because it was 14K - but, then, I started to wonder if the differing alloys from different companies might pose a problem. Maybe I should just have WF make something for me to ensure that it will match my e-ring.

Kristy_lyn: My wedding rings are done in yellow gold and I love them! They are not custom or anything like that...I got them at Osterman Jewelers, a mall store, which is sort of forbidden here. LOL. They can do pretty much anything you want in any type of metal. Mine are 14K because I find 18K too soft for every day wear. I personally like some of the Simon G settings that I''ve seen in advertisements and I''m also partial to Tacori. Good luck in your search!

Kristy, I would recommend taking a look at www.questjewelers.com they have some very nice YG wedding bands and they can custom make anything you want! I am actually purchasing a custom made ER from then and it will be in both YG and platinum. I am currently working with Huan on my purchase, but from what I have heard everyone at their office is an absolute pleasure to work with! We are planning on getting on wedding bands there also, but we haven''t decided on a band yet, we have plenty of time to wait on that decision.

You may find that the color of yellow gold does differ from one manufacturer to another. Usually 18k is a more buttery yellow, but it is possible to make 14k that looks very like 18k. It depends on the alloys used.

don''t know what size you are but this is a beautiful band in 18K yellow gold..

Kristy, can you post a picture of your e-ring to see what kind of band would complement it. And here's a link to a few classic YG wedding bands

For what it's worth, my WB is YG with a design on it. I got it from Charles Green Jewelers in the UK (through a jeweler here in the USA). They have lots of carved bands. But as someone said, I'd have to see your e-ring to see what would go with it. (I actually had trouble finding an e-ring setting to go with it! - backwards, I know...) Also, there are some color differences among 18kt yg, but I haven't had too much problem.

In most cases, designs that you find in platinum or white gold can be made in 18k yellow gold although it is often a special order. Focus on finding a ring style and design that you like and request that it be made in 18k yellow gold. Most of the online vendors here on PS either offer custom design and production services or work closely with custom jewelers who do.
