So do Memoire and Tiffany make the lowest profile shared prong eternity bands? What about Leon?

Hi all -

I''m looking for a shared prong eternity band - maybe around 2 tcw. I would like something that''s as low profile as possible. I''ve been doing some reading of past threads and have been left with the impression that Memoire and Tiffany make the lowest profile ones - is that correct?

Also, has any one had a low-profile one made by Leon? How would his compare?

I''m headed to NYC next week and want to do some shopping for this, but am wondering exactly where to start.

Thank you!

Seriously, with your ring, I''d be headed to Tiffany''s. I think the Tiffany setting is prettier than Memoire (even though I have Memoire). I''ve never seen a shared prong ring by Leon and I don''t think I''d want to experiment with that. We know Tiffany is set low, so that is what I''d recommend. And while you''re there, you can have the fun of trying on lots of different bands with your ring!

Thanks for the info and feedback, DS. Not what I was hoping to hear, though! *cries at the thought of paying the Tiffany premium*

hi bem- i''ve tried on both memoire and tiff bands and they are the lowest set that i''ve been able to find. are you looking for a traditional shared prong band? i tried on the single shared prong memoire bands (from their purity collection) and love them! the setting really showcases each stone well. you should go try some on and see if you like the look of it with your ring. good luck!

Well, the Memoire bands are very well made and are set very low, so you don''t see as much of the sides as you do with other shared prong rings. So it''s a great choice if you don''t want to pay the Tiffany premium.

Hey Bem check out the shared prong Tiffany''s in SMTR

I have a half-circle shared prong and it sits so flush and sleek on my finger![/quote]

A few detailed q''s:
Do you know the approx height of your ring?
How many diamonds are there in the 1/2 circle? (What''s the total carat wt?)
And do you have a picture of the ring from bottom angle? (So we can see the height of it?)

Thx!!

Oh I did check out:

Loved the pics. But do you have pics of just the shared prong 1/2 circle band?
Would like to see a solo pic of that one.

When I was looking for a shared prong to go with the Royal Crown setting I had, I decided to get the one from Tiffany''s. It is extremely well made and very low set and the only ring I could find that would not hit the prongs on the side.

I am extremely happy that I went with it.

I would not hesitate to get a memoire band either as it is just as low set as the Tiffany one I have.

I do want to point out that I think the gallery of the Tiffany is pretty, it is open and has a tiny bit more detail than the Memoire band and also that the band will sit higher on your finger depending on the size stones.

When I went to get my band, I could not decide between the 7 stone .56 ctw. or the 7 stone .91 ctw. I decided to get the smaller carat weight after trying both on with my e-ring. The larger diamond band sat up higher, even though it was still low set, and hit the prongs.

Do you know what size stones you want.

Oh, one more thing, try signed pieces. They have low set diamond shared prong bands and their prices are very good and as far as I know the quality is excellent as well.

I am thinking about getting a 5 stone band in their Raphael setting, I am undecided still.

The tiffany band is my alltime favorite for a shared prong setting. Memoire comes in at a close second.

HI:

Have you tried anything locally? Does Jewels by Maximes carry Memoire? (I am trying to think who in town might....)

ETA: No it isn't Maximes who carries Memoire, it is Swedish Jewellers in Edmonton.

cheers--Sharon

Hi CC

9 diamonds

.27 ctw.

I''ll get you some bottom angle pics!

Do you think that 9 diamond semi-circle Tiff shared prong set (7 pts each)

or

11 diamonds same setting (6pts)

is better a match for my ering? (center stone approx .93 carat?)

or are these options too big for a 1 carat?

(sorry...kinda going off topic - I am also looking for a low profile shared prong wedding band)

I personally like the 9 diamond and have compared with the eternity and the larger # half-circle bands. As I have smallish fingers and I don''t want the diamonds to rub against my other fingers and the 9 works perfectly.

The eternity just felt bulky and poorly matched for me w/ the knife-edge e-ring or any other band IMO.

I prefer sharper proportions and the half-circle is perfecto!

Also, see kathyinjapan''s WB it''s the same one I own. I think she wears hers w/ th e-ring and was concerned about the gap it created between the rings.

I wear the eternity channel-set w/ e-ring (no gap).

Hi Lisa, yes we do have the same shared prong band (nice choice

). Since having my band resized down it now sits much more flush with my e-ring and the gap bothers me less.

calcallie- I think the 9x7pt shared prong ring would be a nice match for your e-ring.

Here''s a pic showing the height

thanks for the feedback.
i think i''ll go w/ the 9x7pt. (will get replica of the o.g.tiff.)
love the tiff setting - looks pretty all around!!! (v.nice image)

You should consider Mark Morrell. He made a matching band that was so low that he didn''t even have a tool to get in the opening between the rails to polish it. Pics are posted in Show me Ring forum. There are 9 diamonds and they are 1.1 ct for comparison.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all of the very informative replies. I ended up getting stuck out of town unexpectedly and so was not able to follow this.

I''m going to reread the thread and suggestions tomorrow.

Goodnight!
