I''m so consused on what type of ring I want. Its crunch time, boyfriend wants to make a decision this weekend so we can make it "official". Our parents and friends all know we are getting married, we''ve already started planning the wedding but we don''t have the ring yet!!!!

For years I thought I wanted a simple RB solitaire.
Then came pricescope and suddenly I wanted a cushion w/ pavé and a halo.
Then I tried one on and wasn''t in love with it.
So back to the RB solitaire but I can''t help but feel that its a little ordinary.

I''m so confused! I have three days to get it figured out! Has anyone else gone through this? What helped you make your decision? Did you regret your decision afterwards? Should I ask my bf for more time??

Here are a few of the rings I''ve declared to be "the one" only to change my mind a week later.

another one. beautiful!! but i tried it on and it didn''t look as good on my hand as it does in the picture. I wanted to see more of the rock.

Ahah! YOU must be my long lost twin

Seriously, I am going through a very similar situation, but I am engaged and have the ring. I have a stock tiffany style (which is what I thought I wanted back then) and am just not satisfied with it, it sits the diamond too high so I knock it all the time, I don''t really find the knife edge very comfortable, and the weight of platinum keeps it spinning. I totally regret not weighing my options more, so kudos for you!

So now I have decided I don''t want platinum and would like some extra bling. I like antique styles, with a taper away from the diamond (wider at the center), but I just looked through ALL the show me the ring thread and have discovered I love the look of a super thin pave band too. Halos are also growing on me (OMG, Halo Lover''s ring is to die for)!!! I am so stuck. I have changed my mind every week for months, my FI is going crazy...

I have to jet, I''ll finish later...sorry!!! RRSP deadlines!

I keep changing my mind as well. As my name indicates I''m pretty sure I want an emerald cut. However, I originally wanted an asscher and now as I continue to wait I realize I love cushions too (esp. the more rectangular ones). I fear I will miss some of the sparkle if I get an emerald cut, but at the same time that''s what I love about it...the "understated" sparkle.

I know this isn''t much help, but good luck in your search. I think it''ll definitely help when you can actually try settings on....can''t wait to see what you decide!

I feel ya!
I'd definitely take more time(If you can). I changed my mind many times, after the fact.
I even got a temporary setting for my upgrade, because I just can't decide.

Do you think you'll change your mind in the future? Would you consider a temporary setting?

Wishing you luck!

You say you tried the halo on and didn''t love it. What else have you tried on? The more you see in person, on your hand, I think the more you''ll get an idea of what you want/love.

I am the same too. I have a plain setting as I planned to keep upgrading till I reached 1.5ct. I fell head over heels with my 1ct stone so I am now looking for a forever setting.

Everything is gorgeous.... every time I log into Pricescope I see another beautiful setting.

I've gone through the same thing, but the more I tried on, the more I realized that the super blingy bands with halos didn't really belong on my hand for everyday wear. I'm opting for a Leon classic solitaire and an eternity band, since that's what always catches my eye. Moreover, I didn't want the responsibility of caring for micropave. I want to be able to drop that baby in the ultrasonic and have it nice and freshy. If you're able to try on the top styles that you're interested in, it will give you a much better sense of what suits your hand and your sense of style, not to mention your lifestyle. Knife edges may look pretty, but a number of people comment that it's not always comfortable. That's something you could also determine by trying some on. The ERD Jennifer ring is one my favs too, but I think it would be more comfy with a single row of micropave without the knife edge. So many choices, I know.

I couldn''t decide either. It took a loooooong time for me to keep narrowing things down until I decided. I got my diamond in a temp setting. As soon as my FI''s tax money comes in, my ring is off to Maytal Hannah for a custom setting.

I originally wanted an Asscher and was afraid, like you, I would miss some of the sparkle. I decided to go with a non-step cut for my e-ring, then later on get a step cut RHR. That way, I have maximum bling for my e-ring and look forward to owning a step cut some day when I don''t have to worry so much about it being THE ring.

If you didn''t like the look of a halo on your hand, then I wouldn''t go with one. Also, if a RB solitiare feels ordinary to you, don''t get it.

Like was mentioned, try rings on! I did not think I would like a knife edge pave, but after trying on a Tacori I actually did like it. I loved some things in person but not in pics and vice versa. I love 3-sided pave but it''s not the most practical/versatile choice.

I thought I would never come to a decision, but I did... so you will too! Good luck!

I''ve had 2 stone changes and 3 mounting changes in 7 weeks. Can you say indecisive??!!

And, while I now LOVE LOVE LOVE, did I mention LOVE??!! the stone, I am still not 100% sold on the mounting. Unfortunately my dh loves the mounting. He picked it out. I am keeping it for now, but you can bet I pay close attention to the gorgeous settings on here. Maybe someday!! Good luck with your choices. Take your time, don''t commit to anything you don''t totally love.

I had a diamond and went through the same thing. It's a difficult choice. If I had to start all over again... I'd get a three stone though with the setting by Leon. But that's me.

Have you tried on different shape solitaires? If the RB seems a little ordinary, try a Princess, or Pear and see how you feel. It''s still simple, but different from the norm.
