o_O :eek2:... about 11:39 PM PST.

Two, actually ... maybe 5 seconds apart.
The first was quick and mild.
The second was longer and stronger.

My big heavy 27" iMac puter wobbled back and forth on my desk several seconds. :o:-o
No damage or broken windows.
It wasn't strong enough to duck and cover.
They're always scary and disorienting though.

Waiting for USGS to give magnitude.

Magnitude was 4.5 on the Richter scale, not too bad.
Fun Fun Fun.

The thing with earthquakes is, right after they happen (but before you see the report from USGS) you don't know whether it was a little one right underneath you or a massive one far far away.

We have had quite a few this year close to us and we feep everything being on pumas
I do not wish them on anyone
Stay safe California

Finally, a decent earthquake.

I am assuming that’s the tech term for one that doesn’t cause a lot of trouble??

Felt it too. Yeah a decent one.

yes, we felt the rumble

just another day in california

Sending continued well wishes and good luck dust to all Californians. Some of my favorite people live in California. Stay safe and (((hugs))).

Hope everyone is OK!

DK :))

It IS 2020. Be careful!

I didn’t feel a thing, which is strange because I’m usually sensitive to earthquakes. All my buddies were talking about it today.

At least with hurricanes you get a lot of warning, so no matter how bad it is, at least you have time to prepare ... well, as much as possible.
Also they can predict how strong they are going to be

Earthquakes are a sudden surprise, and of unknown strength.
Even if it feels mild, it may be just the start of a huge one - or a huge one far away.

I tend to believe that small, frequent earthquakes are better as they relieve the pressure. This is not scientific however I think I read this at one time???? Let's hope this is the case. IDK - Hurricanes come frequently and I could not imagine rebuilding every few years due to a horrific hurricane??? I suppose we rationalize the extreme weather based on our tolerance level and where we choose to live.

natural disasters do have the tendency and potential to be quite disastrous.

but what's the trade off?? is it worth??

for me, being in a nicer comfortable, climate is worth dealing with the sudden unexpected earthquake(s).

out of control, raging, inferno fires, displacing animals, habitat, people ... not so much
