Small stone, which BG Tiffany style?

Hi Shellcm

I have the tapered Tiffany - in fact, I've had that ring three different times. I LOVE the style and would have it again in a heartbeat!

The tapered shank makes the stone look as large as possible, and the simple, slender design really lets the stone be the center of the ring in general. So obviously, I would choose that style. Personal bias aside...I really do think that the tapered Tiffany would still make your stone look biggest.

Good luck!

Another vote for the tapered Tiffany. I think it would make your stone really pop and look larger. Plus it looks comfy.

Also, in case you're leaning towards the knife edge, I would try one on or wear one around for awhile. I've heard that some can't get used to the feeling of the knife edge between their fingers.

Another vote for the tapered Tiffany setting. :wavey:

Thank you, it's actually a big help hearing other people love it because I was probably leaning knife edge but I also haven't seen a tapered one in real life!

I tried on one in Tiffany and it bothered me, but the girl said people get used to it. What a shock she advocated for the ring hey :p I walked away feeling unsure about whether I would get used to it.

tapered

Wow Crystal - I hadn't seen that thread before! The BGD tapered Tiffany is beautiful with that size stone!

I can write more now that I am home. I was in the car with the family while DH was driving when I typed my earlier post.

Mrs_Blop- Yes, I agree. The Tapered Tiffany looks great with any size stone! It is just a great classic in every sense of the word.

Shellcm- Mrs_Blop's previous YG version of this setting is what really got me interested in selecting this for myself, and obviously I love her newest setting of this setting in platinum. I read some of Mrs_Blop's posts describing the setting's high quality and versatility and thought that it was the perfect setting for me. Ame, a perfectionist, also has the same setting and has found great enjoyment from it. Her descriptions also were helpful to me in deciding to select this style.

I can't wait to see what you get!

Thank you so much for the replies, I am thinking the tapered. I've gained a bit of weight and my fingers aren't as skinny as they once were so I was wondering if the tapered would look too skinny but that's just more incentive to lose the weight! Plus the stone will look better once I do! I've told my partner that I've picked a style, once we get our tax returns hopefully we can move on the ring! I can't wait! So it might be some time till I get it but I'll be back here to post pics and most definitely to seek advice on the centre stone!

Tapered. Cuts in thinner where the stone is so the ratio of stone you see vs. metal you see is better.

The tapered is beautiful and stylish especially that rose gold mixed metal.

I vote for the tapered setting as well. I think it looks fabulous.
