hello all,

I was about to pull the trigger on BN diamond and setting, but figured i would consult this forum and perhaps get some input from an expert or two :)

I am looking at a .65-.80 round diamond w/ setting for in the neighborhood of $2500. The qualities seem to greatly vary at BN, and GOG and WF diamonds seem to be out of my budget. Of course the bigger the better, but should I place more emphasis on color, clarity, or cut to get the best looking diamond in this size range? I would prefer no flourescence.

I was thinking of one of these rocks:

thank you for any help! :)

I can't tell if the stats are good, but I have .50 princess cut diamond studs from BN that my husband bought me as a surprise 50th bday present and I LOVE THEM. Best of luck!

I think you can do this at a vendor other than BN for under your budget!

Pair this setting:
14k White Gold 6 Prong Solitaire Engagement Ring
http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/6-prong-tiffany-style-solitaire-engagement-ring-582.htm

with one of these stones:

.607ct, I, SI1 (bottom end of your budget)

.633ct, G, VS2 (top end of your budget)

Ask for a first-time customer discount or any preferred customer discount, for being from Pricescope. Either of those will give you a stone that you can be proud of. Best of luck!

Thank you!!!

Ditto to Rocky's post. I would not buy any diamond blind, especially for a ring.

definitely emphasize on cut if you want the most sparkle.
what kind of setting are you looking for? if you're setting it in yellow gold, then you can even allow the color to drop down quite a bit.
and if you're getting it from a reputable vendor, as long as it's eye clean, you can go down in clarity too.
good luck!

I would take rockys advice!
