It is possible to get eye clean SI1. I have one. I can see nothing in it with unaided vision from all angles. Nothing at all.
However my unaided vision is excellent with the item 6.5- 7" from my nose. I cannot see as close as 3 inches like you can.
I have seen that most larger stones in SI1 you can see "something" but if it looks all dirty and messy like you described that is not right. Sounds like bad grading.
