I love this ring. Here''s my question.

How would this ring look with split prongs? Does anyone have the ability to photoshop some split prongs on the sleek-line pave setting with milgrain in the above thread?

I am so close to a final idea. stoked!

Thanks for the responses

The stones I am looking at are in the 1.2 to 1.5 range.

Skip- That is a beautiful ring, but it is not quite what I was looking for... or what she is hoping for -- based in the information I have secretly extracted from my hopeful, oh God please let her say yes, ff.

My research into her ideal-left hand blinger has narrowed it down to:
1. Tapered band
2. Pave(d) shanks (some sort of decoration on the shanks, just not plain)
3. Medium height rock
She definitely prefers curvy flowing elegance over polygonal structures.

I''m just looking for options for the prongs now. I haven''t divulged this from her

... Other than the fact that heart-prongs are a definite no no. I have a feeling Ill go for the standard, but I love the idea of putting some of my own thoughts into it to make it a little more unique.

I understand that.

When I try to visualize this with split prongs though, I''m just not "feeling it". What if you had something engraved on the inside of the band, or had a tiny surprise stone, like her birthstone, or diamond tucked inside. Many women love the idea of their ring having a "secret".

Thanks for your opinion Ellen. It is valued.

Her birthstone is a diamond. I have played with the idea of puting a colored stone somewhere on the ring. (not the shanks) If she had a favorite color it would be easy. She keeps changing it though... green... blue.....purple.... argh.

Perhaps a yellow peek-a-boo diamond on the sides... I''ll look arround.

Let us know what you decide, might ask WF for suggestions too. They may have ideas we wouldn''t think of, maybe things they''ve done in the past.

And you''re very welcome.

Honestly, I think split prongs on the legato head would make it look too busy or cluttered.
