Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone!!

My question is: I am going to buy a knife egde ring to get engaged soon, but the problem is that her ring size is a 3 1/2 and finding that size in stock somewhere is very hard, let alone it being a ring I really like. I have found two rings I like and the jewelers are suggesting me getting the ring sized if I dont want to wait the 3-4 weeks to get one special ordered.

Is it a good idea to have a ring sized down? Is there an ideal size to start with such as making a size 5 the 3.5 or a size 4??? Also both of these rings have a suprise diamond under the setting, is that going to be a problem??

Please help. Thanks

Well, the best option would be to order one custom. That way you don't have to even worry about the possibility of the setting getting messed up during sizing.

Otherwise, it is best to start with the size closest to her size I believe. So if you can get a 4, that would probably be best.

Did you find a stone that worked for you?

I think I m going to have to go down in size to a 1.5-1.6 max for my price range.

Don''t worry, her finger is teeeeensy compared to most women, so it''ll look huge! Not to mention the fact that a really well cut 1.5 will face up bigger than a lot of 1.5''s out there that aren''t nearly as nicely cut, so you''ll be fine!

That 1.6 really was a great one if it''s still an option for you.

Good luck with choosing!

The one on whiteflash? If thats the one your talking about, I think its out of my price range because I want to spend 10k with the ring and the ring is going to cost $900, so I have about $9,100 left for the rock. I think that stone was 10, 300 or 10,700?

I would have the size 4 ring sized down to a 3.5. That shouldn''t be a problem for a solitaire ring.

I wear a size 3.5 and have a 1.23ct diamond. A 1.5ct would look huge and I''d be very pleased with that.

If you don''t have the time to have it special order, then size it down as long as the jeweler doesn''t expect any problem.

What are the ideal dimensions for a Princess 1.5 ct. Depth and table? Does anyone know, a lot of info I keep finding is all about rounds.
