Sizing Ring?

I sized my finger yesterday. 8.5 & 9 both slid over my knuckle easily. I think 8.75 or 9 would fit best, but I'm wondering when summer comes around how much my finger will swell.

I plan on a 6mm wide ring. Considering that I'm buying in winter, what size should I get?

Also ordering my fiancee's wedding ring. Her engagement ring is 4.75 and loose enough to turn on her finger during winter months. I've heard wearing 2 rings will tighten things up a bit, but should I get a slightly smaller size still on the wedding band?

I have small fingers but bigger knuckles. Current jeweler suggested sizing beads to help during the winter months. My spinning rings have always driven me nuts!

I think I'm going with 9 for me, and 4.5 for her.

Just nod if you're in agreement...could use somebody with knowledge backing me up so I feel more comfortable about this ;)

I wasn't used to wearing rings on my fingers, so when I got sized, I ordered a size 5.25. A year later, I am a 4.75. I wasn't used to wearing rings, so a 5.5 felt small at the time. I also think my finger adjusted to the rings, and now I'm able to wear a slightly tighter ring now. From my experience, I think you should go with the exact size or a slightly (.25) smaller size. If your (or her) ring is a comfort fit (slightly convex on the inside), then you can size a little smaller.

Both are comfort fit. Should I go even smaller on hers -- 4.25?

Has she worn her e-ring in the summer yet? How tight did it get? I wouldn't go down to 4.25 unless her e-ring is really large for her.

I wear 4.75 and my rings are loose enough to spin in winter and border on uncomfortably tight in summer, enough that I want to take them off when I get home. It's the best compromise. Don't forget that if you plan on having kids there will be some finger swelling involved there as well, which may or may not go back to baseline afterwards. What does SHE want for her w-ring size?

I agree - it's a personal preference thing. A 4.5 or 4.75 should be OK (assuming she can get it over her knuckle).
