Hello. You've helped me before, so here I am again. I am looking at stackable bands to go with my oec solitaire. I found one and want at least one more. I've seen some antique ones that are eternity style without stones. I understand that this type cannot easily be resized if at all, but what about stretching just a half size or so? Thanks for any input.

Eternity rings without stones can be resized. If they have a design pattern or engraved surface then you can have them hand engraved to match or leave them with a small un-matched zone. Generally, only smooth rings ought to be stretched. Rings with engraved patterns or die created designs will tend to fracture at their weakest zone when stretched. You might succeed occasionally in trying to stretch a fancy ring a bit, but when the design is deep or when stones are present, it won't be advisable to even attempt it.

Stretching is best done on plain, uniformly made wedding rings.

Thanks very much.
