Hi,

I am looking to replace a diamond my wife had... that was a lost/stolen.

She had an EGL cert - 1.15 CT Round Brilliant 7.05 x 6.96 x 3.96

Other #'s from the cert - (if your interested)

Depth - 56.6
Table - 65
Crown 9.7
Pavilion 43.4
Girdle Thin to Medium

Culet very Small

Polish GOOD
Symmetry GOOD

Flourescence NONE

I know this diamond was NOT a good cut etc. And I want to replace it with something that performs better.

As you can see her 1.15 faced up really large... 7x7 mm --- which is bigger than the 1.2's I am looking at now for her.

Will the 6.7 - 6.8 look much smaller than her old 1.15 ring?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The 6.73mm diamond won't face up quite as large as the 6.97mm diamond, but I don't think the difference will be substantial. I think an ideal cut 6.73mm will be a prettier diamond. Cut is King!

If you want to see what the size difference will look like, you can use this website, it's been very helpful for me.

I am not an expert, however, I chipped a diamond that was wayyyyyyyy less than ideal or excellent. It was a good cut diamond.

I chose to get my replacement diamond from BGD and am amazed at how the whole diamond sparkles and performs!

My measurements went from 6.7 apps to 6.92 and it seems humongous simply because it is an excellent diamond in all categories. It scored 1.5 on the HCA and is a sparkly ball of fire on my hand.

I don't think she will notice the difference in size so much since most of her time will probably be spent admiring her new and better performing diamond.

Since I am not a diamond expert, I chose to go with BGD as Brian Gavin is a master regarding diamonds. I was torn between Brian Gavin and Whiteflash. Good Old Gold would have been another choice for me if I wanted to go with a vintage style cut. If you choose to select some diamonds that you are interested and post them in this forum the experts will help you to select something to amaze her!

Here is my link if you want to read about my thoughts going from a good cut diamond to an ideal cut diamond.

Good luck :-)

Yay!

I don't think that you can go wrong with BGD. But of course I am biased :cheeky:
