Hello again.

Another random question here.. Our rep at RB showed us a .89 carat princess diamond AIG cert that we couldn''t afford so instead he ordered a .77 GIA cert one for us to look at on Wednesday.

To be honest with you, I can''t really tell a huge difference in .12 points but then again, I don''t know anything when it comes to diamonds. I wish I had the specs on both, but I don''t..

Would anyone happen to have a pic of princess cut diamonds in difference sizes? I''d be curious to see how big of a difference (or not) I see....

You could try this chart but I don't know if it would help. Carat weight isn't actually size, you need to go by the diameter measurements of each diamond to see how large they face up and it depends how those 12 points show themselves. I doubt you would notice much of a difference.

Just thinking, depending on what your colour and clarity choices are, you could drop those if they are high ( eg.D,E,F VVS or VS) to perhaps a G or even H colour and an SI1 clarity if this is an option. In this way you could get the size you want and even hit the 1 carat mark possibly.

HEllo! ^_^

Actually, the .77 is a G VS1... Elexese...

The .89 was a G VS2...

I haven''t seen the .77 one yet but the .89 (I was told) was a bit on the shallow side - so it ended up looking bigger (in my eyes) than a .91 that I had seen.

I hope this makes sense... I know it''s pretty vague but it''s all I have so far..

The .91 was great in size (so was the .89) but the .91 was an I VS2 and I could see a hint of yellow in the diamond which was totally unappealing to me...

I hope to get more information on Wednesday.. I can''t wait!

Best of luck with that! You could try for a G SI clarity if one is available to get the best of both worlds and size, but often certain specs are hard to find

With the shallow cut it isn''t always a good thing as you can lose performance, but it is best to go by your eyes to see which is the diamond for you! I am not that surprised that you could see a hint of yellow in an I Princess, fancy cuts can show more colour than rounds. You will know your diamond when you see it!
