Hello! I''ve been lurking around soaking up all of the great information, and decided it was time to jump in and ask a question.

I have a gorgeous .75 solitaire. The specs I can remember off the top of my head are D, VS2, Ideal Cut. It''s set in a traditional 6 prong with a plain band. It was never intended to be my permanent setting, and I''m now looking to re-set it.

I''m looking for a setting in white gold (cost is an issue). I want something unique, and that can stand alone, but not necessarily encrusted with additional diamonds. So far the rings that appeal are all along these lines:

http://www.niwaka.com/us/index.html "Moonlight"

http://store.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry/view/3938/1008/ But without the pave. Not a big fan for whatever reason.

I like the twisted and split shank desigs as well, but without the pave that seems so prevalent.

Anyone have suggestions on sites for affordable, unique white gold setting? Budget is around $1,000.

I''ve always loved this one. 14K for $690.

Or this one. 14K for $790.

14K, $890.

I love the first one! Where are those from? I''d intended to keep something with the 6 prong setting, but I could probably be convinced to do otherwise.

14K and plat, $1,290.

Has diamonds in the setting, but I''m sure it could made without if you want. 14K, $1,390.

I am officially drooling. And I still think I like the first one the best!

All of those came from Knox. I love his site. My favorite two ring are on there. Delicado and Classic Filigree. Who am I kidding? I love them all.

Thank you, so much. Especially for the speedy reply! I''m now wondering why I waited so long to ask.

I am completely in love with the first one, the Motion. It''s exactly what I was looking for.

One question - when the diamonds are set low like that, do you lose any of the sparkle you get with a 6 prong? I have a serious sparkler and don''t want to lose any of it. :)

Glad I could help. I have always loved his site. I also really like Dove, but I think that''s more for myself than you. Half bezel Surprise is very similar to the first three I posted so you may want to check it out as well.

Oh no! It says ships as complete ring only... And I already have a center stone.

Some rings he does only ship completed, but not all of them. It actually looks like the designs you''re looking are that way. You may want to call and see if it''s possible. Most jewellers are somewhat flexible. Or, if there''s a reason why it can only be sold completed then maybe you can have a very similar one custom designed.

I just got done sending an email, and hopefully they will be flexible.

The Motion setting is almost exactly the picture I had in my head, so if they can''t do it, I''ll try to find something similar, or have something made.

Thank you again for all of your help! Whatever I end up with, I''ll be sure to post pics.

Okay! Two more I''ve found that are kinda flowy like the Niwaka one.

Both from Wink.

You are so my new best friend, LOL. Going to check out Wink now...

My husband just agreed tonight that I could have a re-set within the next few anniversaries. So, not really thinking practically or realising fully that it''ll be 3+ years away for me I''ve been online all evening collecting photos of my favorites.

Back to you. As you can tell, the basic design is done by a few people for reasonable prices. While custom would be a good deal more expensive it''d be worth checking into if you can''t find your ring. Both Brian and Wink do custom work so even if the motion ring can''t come without the centre stone you could enquire into having something very similar done, just custom.

If I find anything else I''ll post it. Hopefully some other people will chime in with similar designs they''ve seen...

Addy - I''m mostly ecstatic that I finally have an image of an actual ring that matches the vague idea I had in my head. Thank you again for your help.

Best of luck with the search for your future ring as well!

I thought I''d bump this back up and see if anyone else has suggestions. :)

I''ve come to the conclusion that what really bugs me is the blocky standard prongs on my setting. If all else fails I''ll see if I can''t get a new head put on, but I''d prefer a new setting. Something a bit more organic and flowy.

Any suggestions on where to look?

The budget does not allow for custom work. Unfortunately.

I''ve been drooling over that one as well!
My only concern is the exposed edges on the stone.
Knowing me I''d whack it at just the right angle and destroy it.
