Hello all, I hope you're enjoying the summer!

Last winter I bought an Elsa Peretti sterling silver and diamond band similar to this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/TIFFANY-CO-...78145644?pt=US_Fine_Rings&hash=item418371c56c

I love the flush set diamond, and currently do a lot of lab work and field work so the simple style is perfect. Unfortunately the bling factor is minimal with the petite 0.02ct (1.7mm) stone. I'm looking for a flush set diamond band with a slightly larger stone and I want the subtle winking of a small diamond to be noticeable.

I found a cute band with a 0.10ct, (3mm) stone that might be a good option, but I can't try it on. Do you think a 0.10ct stone is large enough to be flashier? What do you think is the largest I could go for a flush set stone?

I have a size 4 finger so I get pretty good mileage with small stones.

10 points isn't exactly flashy either. Any chance of a 15 pointer?

Hi Gypsy!
15pts could be good. Do you know if anyone sells flush set bands at reasonable prices? I'm trying to avoid having to go custom on this one.

I don't, I'm sorry.

I can understand wanting to avoid custom. But maybe its something David Klass can accommodate for you, if you do have to go that route?

Thanks Gypsy, I'll keep him in mind.

Any one else know if any vendors carry flush set diamond bands?

Or have opinions on minimum noticeable diamond size?

Thanks Gypsy! It's nice to know someone's making them. :)

I wasn't sure if "Gypsy set" was still a current term as it's not very PC to use the word Gypsy anymore (This is such a weird sentence to write to you!).

I appreciate all your help :D

I'm pretty sure it's still used in the industry. I've seen it referred to that way for years and that has not changed. It's just what that way of setting the stones is called. It's not a PC issue.

Agree with Gypsy that 10 pointer will be small. You can either go for a wide band with multiple burnished or gypsy set diamonds or consider a larger bezel set center stone. Bezels are also low profile and glove friendly.
