She might like this ring but I dont know if I should consider it with or without a halo.

Lucky girl! I usually favor Jack Kelege designs over Simon G. In this case, too.

Ditto! I like the Jack Kelege better; it looks less bulky and squarish than the Simon G.

Thritto!!

I''ve tried that Jack Kelege on and his work is impeccable! Beautiful proportions, detail and quality. Did you know that that ring has melee inside the halo under the main stone? wild! Not visible to the eye but adds to the SPARKLE!

(p.s. in case it sounds like I work for JK, I don''t, just love his rings)

Another vote for the Jack Kelege. It just looks, well, better to me!

I have a beautful Simon G so I''m usually biased... but in this situation I agree that the Simon G looks too squared and bulky. The Jack K looks very feminine and beautiful!

I also love Simon G, but I agree with all the other posters, the Kelege setting is very pretty and feminine.

I''ve actually tried on both of those rings (many times LOL!) and the Kelege is MUCH more feminine. Plus, depending on which vesion of the Royal Crown you go with you can also get a wedding ring that matches (but tell him you want it to only be pave on three sides so the side that sits against the e-ring won''t be diamonds against diamonds). I have pics of both Kelge version somewhere if you haven''t already seen the differences (one has a round donut against your finger and the other sits up to accommodate the w-ring).

The Simon G is very much a stand alone ring (I think I have pics of that one on my hand somewhere too). With that one though, when the center stone gets beyond about 1.5 carats it starts to look ridiculous (not sure what size stone you''re considering). They brought in a setting for me that was about the right size for my stone and it litterally went knuckle to knuckle. Not attractive at all...

I agree...the Jack Kelege is spectacular. I''ve tried on the low and high versions of the imperial crown and found the lower version much more comfortable on the finger. The higher version seemed to feel like it was sticking out on my other fingers. Maybe that''s just me. Perhaps Dee*Jay can chime in on that.

Another consideration is price. The imperial crown retail right now is going between 9 and 10k without a center stone. That''s a lot more than the Simon G.

I''m glad someone mentioned price. I imagine that Ritani is less than half the price of the JK setting. If you want a fine quality halo setting, I''d go with Leon Mege. You can probably get one of his around $5000 or so, and it will be a little more delicate than those.

I am a little late to this topic but I the kelege is spectacular! I actually have the imperial crown and it is fabulous. I constantly get compliments and I am so happy that my fiance picked it- it was my dream ring. So, I would say go for the kelege.

I used to be ringplease but had to reregister because of my computer not accepting cookies ( I am not technical) but I will see if I can find my thread.
