might be a silly one....

do we need to tip the person that serves us during a food tasting?

i have no idea and can''t find any info about it....thanks!

We didn't. But... there wasn't a bill to add tip to either time. So... if they give you a bill for the meal, just play it by ear?

I'd probably just call the catering manager up and ask, honestly.

Yeah, I think you are good - unless it was a meal you paid for in a restaurant, tipping doesn''t seem necessary.

Who served the food? If a waitress served it sit-down dinner style then a tip would have been appreciated but probably not expected.

the chef came out and talked to us first - he brought us the appetizers.
then different servers brought us the different salads and then the different entrees. there were 4 different servers that brought stuff out.
i will write a nice email to the person in charge telling how gracious all the servers were....maybe thats something at least.
