Hi! I''m relatively new to the ''diamond'' world and though I have been on pricescope many many times, but now finally decided to purchase a three stone diamond ring.

I have found the following spec diamonds and wanted your feedback on it:

0.64 carat RB center stone SI1 G
0.4 RB carats each for the side stone (0.8 tcw for the side stones) SI1 G

I don''t have much information about the depth, table, Fluorescence, etc and will hopefully get it this afternoon and post it.

In a nut shell my question is : with the above color/clarity combination, is it considered average or below average or a good combination? the stone sparkled like anything and was very white. I could not find any inclusions with the naked eye or under 10x magnification for that matter...then again, im not that much of an expert!!

appreciate your responses and again sorry for the silly question, but its a learning process and we learn from the best

I''m not a pro but I think your selection looks pretty in a three stone setting. I wouldn''t be too worried about SI1 and G color. Since the stones are not that big, the inclusions shouldn''t be too visible to the naked eye and G is a good color, it should appear pretty white if set in a white gold/ platinum setting.

Remember to post some pics of your ring when it''s ready!

I shouldnt worry too much, if you''ve had a look and cant see anything in the stones... even with a lop then the chances are other folk wont either, specially when its set.

G all round is grand, look forward to seeing the finished artical. :)

It is likely the stones are not certified, so the color clarity grading depends on the vendor. SI1 is a good grade to use for checking - you will be unlikely to be able to see anything - and if you can pick up any yellow color then run away.

What about cut?
Have you read the tutorial - do you know about my ideal-scope for $25?

Thank you both for your reply!

I''m really excited as this is the first time I go through the process of ''customizing'' anything. I usually buy jewelry that is already on display and appeals to my taste. but being part of PS has really changed my view on many things and opened up so many doors and options!! (unfortunate thing for my husband though as i won''t shut up about diamonds and color and clarity and options!)

I am also getting diamond stud earrings done. just a simple .3 carat each in the same SI1 G in a simple 4 prong setting.

so i should have the ring and the earrings all in the same clarity/color so they should all shine the same way...

for our current budget, i think this is a perfect combination and my ring size is 6.25 so it should sit nicely..

As soon as i confirm the order at my local jeweler, he said he will have everything ready in a week''s time (yay!) so hopefully by next week i should have something to post!

Garry, don''t know much about your ideal-scope but i sure do read a lot about it on this website. do you have a link to the tutorial that i could refer to?

as for the certifications there was two options that i could select from, the same diamonds that were GIA certified and others that were vendor certified...

I live in Bahrain, not many ppl know where that is, but its a tiny TINY island in the Middle East and am very limited with B&M and diamond options..

If you have GIA certed goods to compare with then with a bit of help you could make your own comparisons - read the tutorial here to get some knowledge.

We can get an IS to you pretty quick from Australia.

The website is www.ideal-scope.com and you can read all about it/ how to use etc there and place orders online - it would be shipped in 16 hours from now.

Can vouch for the fast delivery... had one to me in the UK within 4 days

Also there is Gem Appraisers in Philly (owned by Oldminer on PS) that will ship out an IS.
