Silky semitransparent ruby

Enhoerning has listed on LT a vivid red silky Ruby that the GIA grades as semi-transparent. Is this a good buy? How do you guys feel about sleepy rubies vs transparent ones?

That one is really pretty in my eyes @voce

I like both types of rubies and sapphires as long as the sleepiness is "even." A great colour does wonders and as long as there are no weirdass splotches or marks I'm not demanding of a crystal clear ruby.

Personally I wouldn't and would spring for one with decent transparency. I know I wouldn't be able to settle for one semi transparent faceted ruby and will keep wondering what if.

If it's a cab that's ok.

It's also not a matter of a few hundred bucks but a few thousand.
