I love the transition of seasons, and love the transition to Spring especially.

The first sign of Spring in my yard is the skunk cabbage. Despite its unfavorable name, I do adore this little plant because I know Spring is on the way. https://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=syfo

I noticed something else this year. I'm sure I've observed this before because it seemed familiar to me, but I don't recall equating it with spring. I have a wonderful older greyhound. Earlier this week, I noticed him lifting his head in the air, sniffing intently while his eyes opened and closed just a little. I realized he must be smelling Spring, the change in the weather and all of the new life that comes with it. I mentioned it to someone at work and he pointed out that dogs take in so much more data than we do through their senses. Made complete sense to me, and such a gorgeous sight seeing my dog perceive the world in such a lovely way.

What have you noticed?

These two teeny lambs were born overnight last night in the paddock next to our house. Both girls & legend has it that female twins to be the first born on a farm will bring the farmer luck & fortune. True or not, the girls & I had a lot of fun stroking them & being licked after school earlier!

Thank you for posting the photo Alex T. It's really lovely to see those little baby lambs. You are lucky to live in such a lovely place!

Thank you @Loves Vintage ! We have been again today for a cuddle. Here are my usually feral children looking relatively still smart considering it's the end of a school day! It's pictures like this that make me love & appreciate living in the middle of no where. The girls also came home with fresh eggs - the farmer always let's them go & grab some as a treat & has done since they learned to walk.

No pics but on a walk around the local nature reserve today there were several very sleepy toads on the path, just out of hibernation! It’s been very warm here this week, must have woken them up:sleep:

Just got back from walking around my neighborhood and saw a lot of daffodils! Temperature is going to be above 50 degrees all week. Hopefully we've seen the last of winter in my region.

Pretty flowers, @missy.

The signs of spring I'm going with today are itchy eyes, sneezing, stuffed nose, headaches and sinus problems. The double edged sward of spring for me is wanting to be outside because the weather finally warmed up but needing to stay in with windows closed due to pollen allergy. Gah.

Aww I'm sorry @mary poppins. I suffer from allergies all year round so honestly I look forward to Spring anyway because it means nicer weather (hopefully lol) and cycling for me. But I hear you and allergies suck. I run the A/C most of the time now to help with it and lots of rewetting eye drops. Hope you don't have to challenging a Spring.

I love everyones beautiful pictures of spring, it is my favorite season next to fall. Here in the upper midwest, we're still waiting for the full spring arrival. (And also waiting to see if the forecasted snow actually materializes this next Thursday.)

My crocus outside our kitchen window just bloomed this weekend, & the daffodils in front of the yard are about 6 inches, waiting for those yellow tops to bloom!

Took pics of some of the crocus, it was a glorious weekend here this past weekend...enjoy spring everyone! IMG_1890.jpeg IMG_1895.jpeg

Just took this pic right now, note the date, April 14! It's coming down at a decent rate but is heavy & wet. Calling for 2-6. Upper midwest for reference.

I don't know about Spring, but it's been 23C this weekend and has felt like Summer to us! Horse riding (it was hot!) on Saturday, 18 mile bike ride along the canal on Sunday, kite flying in the park with my son today. :cool2:

We did spot lots of courting ducks on our bike ride, a field of sheep with lambs, little tiny ducklings! 57484858_10156414089168435_377425546830675968_n.jpg

I bought my mum a planter for mother's day and I was jealous so I had to get one for our garden. We needed some colour!

I agree with Mary Poppins, the signs of spring to me this year is my coughing and sneezing and all the yuck that goes with allergies. The superbloom in CA is killing me. I have not had such a difficult time in years. Almost made me go to the allergist.-then it got just a tad better so I cancelled.

I love all the glorious pics!

KlZkEA3kT%myZ39p9HMaJg.jpg Here you go!! It's swarming season for honey bees. This is a swarm that took over my small courtyard tree a few weeks ago. I had a beekeeper come to remove them. She says I had about 40,000 bees! It was amazing. Signs of Spring!!!

Carpets of bluebells as far as you can see in the woods behind our house at the moment, with lots of emerging greenery. Exploring & flower picking with this little treasure this morning

I hate to be a debby downer but I HATE spring. The snakes come out. This one by my bedroom door. And another huge one by the pool today. High rise in a city sounds like paradise right now. 20190428_134138.jpg

No, most aren't. Although we did have a coral snake (most poisonous in North America) in the living room last year! I am so phobic of all of them. I have seen documentaries about all the snakes in Au. I don't think I could handle it.

ETA DH was a superhero to me when he shop-vacced the coral snake!

@ceg The first sign of wild Spain that greeted me here was a clump of tiny viper hatchlings - a sort of single use hypodermic needle; followed within weeks by an acorn-sized, black cross spider. The notion of casually stepping on poison is unbearable... - have since learned how rare these are, but walking through tall grass in summer still makes me look twice at each straw.

Spring is overwhelming for better reasons yet & it is just ending with a wash of jasmine - www ...
