Hello. I have been trying to sell my Tiffany Legacy ring for a few weeks now to no avail. My best choice and option so far is SignedPieces.com which has given me a pretty good quote. The only thing about it is that I live in California...and SignedPieces.com is allllll the way in New York city. I am nervous as hell about sending the ring across the united states to them (especially cause of all the death treats from my mom...who helped me buy it.)

Has anyone here ever sold anything to SignedPieces.com? I know that I have to get insured shipping, but I can''t find an insurance company that will help me insure the ring for at least 1 month. I have called a few places. Is there any advice that you guys could give me about sending this ring to them or doing business with them. I need this knot in my stomach to go away...I have had this knot for a few days now and I have not ate Jack in the box or Wendy''s for weeks!

I appreciate all your help! Thank you guys! You are all the best!

-Brandon

Signed Pieces'' insurance should cover it while it is at their shop. You only need to insure the shipping.

But how can I be sure that SignedPieces.com is legit enough for me to send them something worth 10,700 dollars (at least that''s what I bought it for). That''s the part that my mom is killing me about. They are just so far away, how do I know that they are secure and good enough...?

Sorry, I can''t help you with that. Their reputation on PS, eBay, and as a long-time business in New York''s diamond district isn''t enough for you?

Plenty of people have purchased items from Signed Pieces here and are really happy. I would be happy to send my Legacy (if I had one) there if I was going to sell it as they seem to sell Tiffany stuff pretty quickly for people.

When you say sell I''m confused...They told me that they would give a single check after they receive the ring. But when they sell the ring I believe that''s the sale that they make profit off of right? I don''t see any of that do I? I''m sorry I sound a little green on this, but the truth is, I don''t know anything about SP''s as of two days ago or so.

You certainly won''t get back what you paid. Signed Pieces buys it from you, cleans it up and puts it for sale. So once they send you a check, that''s it. Signed Pieces does a good job of advertising, has a good website and a good reputation for checking out their merchandise to be real not fakes. Pearlman''s (in Michigan) is another vendor that buys used jewelry but I think things move faster at SP.

Sorry - I was under the impression they did a consignment type thing.

Either way, if you haven''t been able to sell it I would feel comfortable going with Signed Pieces.

Call Isaac and talk to him, they are very reputable. They give you a quote and send you a check, it''s not consignment. Thier reputation here is stellar. Good luck.

ditto. they are a very well respected and reputable. I know it can be scary but you are in good hands with them.

I have purchased from them and have dealt with them on numerous occasions. They have an excellent reputation.

When I''ve had to send jewelry I sent it USPS - INSURED. It will cost a bit but it WILL get there.

Or, if you talk to SP directly, I''m sure they will tell you exactly how they would like it shipped. Don''t worry, I''m sure you just want this out of your hands asap.

USPS insured usually takes about 1 week and insures up to $25K (I think).

I don''t know if this is a jackass question or not....but what does it mean exactly when you speak of insured through USPS? Does that mean for example that if I insured the ring for 11,000. (Have paperwork and everything...) and they lose it in the mail, that they will be paying me 11,000???

You can ask USPS about it, how they pay out in case of loss, damage of goods.

You really need to read the terms and conditions carefully, USPS have various parcel post options such as USPS Registered, Express Insured and you need to read up on each to determine which is best for your needs - we can't speculate and advise you wrongly on such an important matter.

Brandon my friend,

Get a hold of yourself, man!

The stress is obviously getting to you...your own mother is ready to whack you, and you haven''t had any junk food in weeks...who could blame you for being a nervous wreck

You''re not thinking straight...you need sustenance. Get out there, and pick up a double bacon cheeseburger - STAT!

Go to USPS in person. The nice folks there will advise exactly what to do in this situation. As a heads-up:

Purchase Insurance at any Post Office
• For items of greater value requiring additional insurance, try Registered Mail™, which covers up to $25,000. Registered Mail can be used with First-Class Mail® and Priority Mail®.
Requires a completed insurance form found at the Post Office

And best of luck with yo mama

Companies and individuals here on PS constantly are shipping jewelry around the country and it''s considered very safe.

Signed Pieces has a wonderful reputation and I''ve only heard positive about them!
