As a new member of Pricescope I have to say I am very grateful for everyone''s help and recommendations.

I have found valuable information and some pretty spectacular vendors (James Allen / DCD).

But my experience with the Facets Collection group has been subpar in my opinion.

Here are a few reasons:

1) The person I was talking to assured me that their diamonds were ideal, but they would not send very close up pictures.

2) They do not return emails or phone calls promptly.

3)They did send hand pics of the ring, but on someone''s pinky finger, and the hand was against a white light. I couldn''t get a real-life sense of the diamond.

4)They will not provide a Sarin report.

5) They do not provide paviollion and crown numbers.

6) They pulled the ring from the website to hold it for me while I awaited more information, then did not provide further info, and then put the ring back up on their website without contacting me. Booooo

5)They told me the only way to compare two diamonds would be to buy both rings - at $30k, then return one or both if I don''t like them. Come on.

Just wanted to post my .2 as I hope it helps others.

booooo....I would call WF or Mark at ERD

I''m sorry Tracy for your bad experience. Every vendor drops the ball now and then and unfortunately there is always a customer or 2 that gets left with poor service. As for Facets rings/diamonds, I honestly am not familar with their diamonds. I recommend them often for wedding bands and possibly settings but I know they normally do not provide the info that Pricescopers normally want for their center stones. I''m sure there is another PS vendor who would be happy to have your business.

Yes, I hear their bands are quite beautiful.

Tracy, I think you will find that the majority of recommendations for SP are for wedding bands, anniversity bands, settings, etc.

If I wanted a diamond, I would go to WF and GOG.

I echo the previous posts. I bought from Signed Pieces in the past for my eternity ring. I thought their return policy and customer service were good for my purchase, but I did not need the type of info on your center stone for my wedding band. Sorry about your experience. There are numerous fabulous vendors here at PS so I don''t think you''ll have a difficult time finding someone who will do great by your business.
Good luck!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for responding to the post and rounding off the perspective. I definitely thought about NOT posting this, but in the end, I think it will help out others who are considering buying engagement rings. WHAT A PROCESS THIS IS!

I don''t like to spread negative energy. Just sharing as I go.

My name is David Leventhal and I am one of the owners of Facets. I wanted to take a moment to respond to original post, point by point:

1.) We did send photos of the rings. Regarding the close-up photos of the diamonds, our regular photographer would not have been available in time, and we did everything we could to provide the best photos possible.

2.) With the exception of the weekend, we return every phone call and e-mail within 24 hours.

3.) Due to the emergency nature of the request, we had to use a woman’s hand that could only fit the rings on her last finger.

4.) With regards to the Sarin report, one can only be provided for a diamond that is unmounted. In order to provide the crown and the pavilion angles, one either needs a Sarin report or a new GIA certificate, both would require the stone to be removed from the setting.

5.) The agreement was to hold the rings until April 10th. Once we did not hear one way or the other, we made the rings available again.

6.) The only way to compare the brilliance of two diamonds is to do so in person.

Best Regards,

David Leventhal
The Facets Collection

David, I''m glad you replied, its always nice to have two sides to a story. Not every vendor can reply as timely as we would like, on the WF site, it guarantees a reply within 24 hours, but it usually takes me more like 2 or 3 days to get a reply, but that''s fine because I know they''re busy. Tracy, if its important to you to have all the information about a diamond before purchasing it, which it is to most of us, considering a different vendor for your diamond. Though, I agree its hard to compare brilliance of two stones just from pictures alone. I hope you find what you''re looking for!

I felt the need to reply to this post because it is recent and I feel like I have a bit to add. I just wanted to say that I have been dealing with David from SP over the past couple of days and he has returned about a half dozen emails from me always within a couple of hours as we discussed the new shared prong engagement setting for my 2 carat cushion

. For what it is worth, I have found the customer service to be excellent so far. I will be sure to update when my experience is complete....

Glad to hear things are moving along - I hope the rest of the journey goes smoothly.
