Sidestone Diamonds slightly off

Hi all. Thank you for all of you help so far with the center stone I am looking for in a three stone engagement ring. My next question is about the sidestones. I have two stones that are from my grand mother and great grandmother. The diamonds are the same clarity, cut, color; however, the diamond sizes are slightly off. One is .49mm and the other is .505mm. When I look at them side by side I can see a slight difference in size but I am not sure if it is in my head. Do you guys think these will look okay as the sidestones in a three stone ring?

Is it possible to show us some pictures of the stones?

It doesn't sound like there would be a large enough difference in size to matter but maybe their cut makes them appear different sized?

I think it is all in your head... somehow I have a hard time believing that anyone can see a .015mm difference in size, especially once set with another diamond in the middle.

Maybe the table size is different? The diameters sound close enough.

That size difference seems like it might be very difficult to see...after you put a stone in between them I would
think it would be near impossible. Like HVVS said, could be a table size issue.

Maybe one''s very deep and the other very shallow? Even then, you said the size difference is "slight". In a ring, you probably won''t be able to tell.

Thanks everyone! I tried to take a picture of the stones but my camera wont focus on them so they look like blurs, I tried it with and without the flash. I think I will just send them to the people making my ring and ask them to tell me the exact dimensions, etc.

I am really glad to hear that when the stone is between them it should be near impossible to see a difference. I think it might be in my head!

I just re-read your post. Are they really tiny diamonds? b/c .49 and .5 are tiny...do you mean cts or 4.9/5.5 mm? or are they nice sparkly little bitty diamonds?

Sorry, I mean they are 4.9mm and 5.05mm. They are each around .5 carat. Sorry for the confusion
