I think if you love that look, you should definitely go for it. It sounds like a lot, but I tried a ring like that on once and it looked stunning! It had three sided pave, pink diamond pave, traps, and a round center stone. Sound like too much, I know, but here''s a pic I took. The center stone is about 2.5 carats and was just dropped into the setting, it would look so much better mounted.
I wear a 5 1/2 and my center stone is 3.11 with .45 emerald cuts on each side with tapered baguettes down the shank. I love it and the proportions are lovely. The EC's with the round are different, you don't see it everywhere and I love it.
Look up "in love with a "j" thread, I am terrible at posting pics, but maybe one of our resident computer whiz's can help out...mrssalvo, widget or mara maybe?
That size center stone is beautiful as a solitare too.
That yellow diamond Beaudry ring at Pealrman''s is a bargain. Somebody should grab it.
Ann, from your previous posts, it seems you have your heart set on a rectangular stone and you love the Beaudry mountings. Why are you considering a round now? You shouldn''t settle for a shape you don''t really want just because it may be easier to find the center stone. For fancy cuts, the numbers do not mean as much. If you are just looking at the cert, you may be eliminating some good candidates. You really need to see the stone. Why not find your own diamond and get a Beaudry mounting. I know there are lots of Beaudry look-a likes out there for less, but they are not the same. I have seen a lot. If you want the 3-sided pave band, but not the filigree and hand engraving, then Leon Mege would be a good choice to make the mounting. If you want the whole works, Beaudry is the best.
