I found an awesome stone online that is a real bang for the buck in terms of size/color/cut, but then when I got the image of the diamond, there's black crystals right on the table that really concern me.

It's a round ~ 1.3 / H / SI1 / GIA XXX cut / 1.6 HCA going in a halo setting. Do you think they would be visible from the naked eye? They are getting back to me tomorrow with their expert gemologist's opinion and ASET/Idealscope, but if you guys think it's an automatic no-go then it would save me from wasting any more time. Thanks for the help!

At what I believe is 10x:

As a person who owns two 1.5+ SI1 diamonds, plus based on your picture, I would say that the black crystals will be visible if you look at them closely (say 8 inches). They are visible in one of my two earrings (5 black crystals- looking like tiny pin heads- for yours, it may only be 2-3), but they don't bother me at all.

Like a beautiful girl with 2,3 tiny moles on her face. Do you love the look of Cindy Crawford?

Just a funny analogy... Anyways, I look at the whole diamond and find it beautiful and those inclusions occur during the generation process, unique to the stone. It really depends on person to person. I'd rather have some crystals in an SI1 so that I am sure the stone is not cloudy/hazy or have other issues. You have to decide if you are okay with it. Especially if the price is right, I would say 'Go ahead'.

Actually now that I read your report, it says 'Strong blue' florescence. The price must be very reasonable, or else, you shouldn't proceed. I would not like 'strong blue' though.

You are asking the wrong people! Ask the ones that have the stone where they can look at it for you!

I may be wrong, but I think that is more than 10x. Again, ask them.

I would most likely be able to see them. I can see the flaw in my VS1 asscher. Carbon spots always stick out to me. I would be OK with it for an earring or pendant but I would not like it for a ring. I can deal with carbon if they're off to the side but not right under the table, not for a ring.

I have two 1.7 carat SI1s and they are eye-clean. Just see what the jeweler says about eye-cleanliness. That diamond is blown up to like 2000% of its size, so it's hard to tell what you'd see with the naked eye.
