I read somewhere once that Jennifer Aniston(in her efforts, I guess, to preserve the environment, takes a three minute shower)...Now I am not one of those dawdling types in the shower, I am a hit-it and get-it girl, but can you really take a 3 minute shower and get the job done?(Condition, shave, etc)

Are you a fast shower-er or a slow one?

Quick showers for me but mainly because I am always in a hurry...even when I am not running behind LOL
But using less water is a plus anyway

I take about 3 minutes to shower and shave my legs and underarms in the shower but if I am washing my hair and conditioning add another 3 minutes to that so 6 minutes for the whole works.

I am very efficient in the shower...not as efficient as Kramer was though if anyone remembers that Seinfeld episode where he was saving water by doing other things in the shower

Usually I''m quick and to the point in the shower, but I could never do it in 3 minutes! I try to let my conditioner set in for at least a minute or two, and no way shaving is happening in a minute or two.

I''ll admit that sometimes in the winter, when I''m freezing, I''ll dawdle in the hot water.

I''m certainly a dawdler by nature, but our hot water tank is old and not cooperative with that concept :) so it''s often a race between me and the hot water :)

My FI takes a five minute shower and I say I cannot understand how anyone can get clean in just five minutes.

But I on the other hand take too long showers where people think I''ve gone and drowned... minimum 30 minutes unless I''m rushed... which is 15-20 then.

in the morning, before work, 10 minutes. i have to condition my hair but i try to do other things at the same time (shave, body wash, etc).
however i did take a 45 minute shower last night that was piping hot. I am cold by nature, and i finally felt "warm". i do not do that often tho. my water bill/energy bill would be through the roof if i did!

It depends on my mood and what needs to be done. I''m a hairless wonder, I can go for weeks without needing to shave my legs, so that''s not a daily occurrence. Shaving the other bits takes just a minute.

I''d say my showers are 5-10 minutes long on average. If I''m really grody, not feeling well or need to do a head-to-toe shave they might extend to 20-30.

There is no way that I can do it all in less than 15 minutes. I try to be as efficient as possible. I do not like to do an incomplete job meaning not shaving or not washing hair so it all gets done every time.

Wet hair
Lather with shampoo
Rinse
Apply conditioner
Shave
Rinse hair
Wash body and face
Rinse

I cannot make it take less time! I have tried and when I do either a calf gets missed shaving or I have suds in my ears.

It is the after shower rountine that is time consuming with the lotion and makeup and hair and clothes.

I only take showers in he summer to cool off.
But I do enjoy a nice long soak in the tub once it is half full.
I wash my hair and groom whatever needs attention.
After which I fill it again with enough clean water
to rinse off thoroughly.
The best of both worlds.

I can be in and out with shaved legs and washed hair in less than 5 minutes. I have never understood why anyone takes longer, particularly DH.

I used to take very quick showers (5 mins) but now that I am a mom and sometimes that is the only break I get they tend to stretch out a little longer. I probably take 10 minute showers now which I still consider pretty quick.

If I''m cold or not feeling well, I can hang out in that hot water for a looong time. Usually my showers are probably about 8-10 minutes though. I don''t think of that as very long.

I take pretty quick showers (about 5 min) most mornings. I only wash my hair every other day, I rarely shave in the winter and shave maybe twice a week in the summer. I also don''t feel the need to fully lather up every day. I make sure to wash certain areas each day (i.e underarms) but many other body areas are still clean even if i don''t scrub them everyday.

SO takes pretty quick showers but uses WAY more water pressure than I do so he probably actually uses more water.

Quicker showers are good for the environment, your water bill, and your time saving in the morning... sounds good to me.

Depends--when it''s hot out I take quick showers but when it''s cold I prefer to stay in where it''s warm for a little longer!

Depends on the day.

If I''m running late, I can be in and out of shower in 3 minutes or less. (no shaving here -- if I shave in a rush parts get skipped and I tend to get cut)

Moderate shower on regular day 15 minutes or so (includes shaving legs & underarms).

Long shower when sick or cold (45+ minutes -- I actually made so much steam one day the smoke alarm down the hall went off).

My usual day usually takes 20 minutes or so:
Fill tub about 1/4 full and climb in.
While tub goes to 1/2 full or so -- wet & lather hair, rinse, condition hair, shut water off (at about 1/2 full), shave, begin draining tub, scrub body, use shower to rinse off (1 minute or so).

If I''m sick or really tired, my showers take longer, but usually I am a 15 minute shower girl. My dad used to say he could set his watch by me because it was always exactly 15 minutes between the time the water would turn on, and when it would turn off lol.

If I skip my hair, 3 minutes is a standard shower for me. This would just be washing and shaving (I shave really fast--I can''t see in the shower so I can''t be too particular!) and face stuff. If I add in hair, another 3 minutes. (1 minute to shampoo, 2 minutes for conditioner to work). If I''m cold or sick, I just get in the bath. I never bathe to get clean. I just don''t see how you can feel clean if you''re sitting in butt water.

DH takes 10-15 minute showers every day and I just can''t figure out what takes so long.

I can''t go any faster and get the job done, so 8-10 minutes it is for me for the basics:

shampoo
conditioner
face
rinse conditioner
body

If it''s a full shave, add another 6-7!

I''m usually in the shower for about 10 minutes or so. Sometimes though (when I''m sick, achy, or just not feeling well) I take longer showers.

5 - 10 minutes in the morning on workdays.

Weekends and nighttime baths... I wallow, and will gladly drain the hot water tank. I cold.

About ten mins time for me. Most of it is my hair, conditioning it ALONE takes almost half that, its so thick its hard to get anything thru it. But once the conditioner is on, I then shave and bodywash the rest of me.
If its the weekend I can take 20 min showers, esp in winter when i''m cold!

I take forever in the shower. At LEAST 30 minutes. I sing, I deep condition, exfoliate, use aromatherapy, meditate, you name it.

I love that time when my daughter goes for her nap and I have 30-45 minutes alone to have girly pampering time. Heaven.

To take actual showers I am a "quickie" (why wast the time and up the bill). As for other activities people do in showers

I''m a too the point showerer, but I shave in the shower and condition my hair, so it takes about 10 minutes every day.

hahah, I dance!

Used to LOVE dancing at the clubs to the loud music and strong beats but when I met my now FI I stopped (he doesn't like the idea of me dancing "sexily" when other men can watch... isn't that adorable??

) so now I just dance and dance in the shower and pump up the music while I wash my hair/scrub my body etc. Maybe that's why it takes longer than most with a minimum of 30 minutes? But I multitask though... hmm..

On an average day, I''m probably at about 10 minutes. When I need to shave, it''s a whole different ball game. 20? 25? I feel like it takes me forever.

You should be able to go to dance clubs if it''s something you enjoy. Tell him to go with you!

I''m a big dawdler.

if im rushed and dont wash and condition hair then 3 minutes to soap and rinse....when im not rushed then its usually 7 minutes and on my day off i will treat myself to 10minutes max...more then that wastes water and makes my skin dry.

I have a bad habit of zoning out in the shower. It''s something about the steam and the hot water, I just love it.

I took really long showers growing up--20 to 30 minutes. I''ve been able to cut them down to closer to 15 minutes, but they feel rushed to me. (My mom likes to tell people that her water bill went down considerably once I went away to college.)

DH takes really fast showers, I have no idea how he gets clean in only five minutes, but he does!
