There are about 10 friends hosting this for us. I was thinking personalized zippo lighters for the guys and maybe some frame coasters for the girls.

Bump.
Are these gifts ok? Also, should I get something a little different/bigger for the hosts offering their house for the shower?
Should I give the gifts to them before or after the shower? Or bring them with me to the shower?
Oh yes, I love your original idea! Those gifts are great for hosting a shower. We''re spending about $15 per host (there''s about 10 of them) and then $50 on the couple who''s hosting it at their house. You''re already going above and beyond with contributing money to them and jewelry on top of the shower gifts. Can I be in your wedding too?Date: 4/23/2008 8:50:44 PM

I love this thread! Thanks for all of the great ideas...I''m maybe a bottle of wine each will do, but how about what I had originally had in mind?
I had ordered the girls monogrammed tote bags, they came out wrong, so the company re-did them and now I have 2 per girl. I have been collecting things to fill the bags with, but don''t necessarily want to carry all of the loot to Maui, so I thought I could give them their bags full of goodies as their thank you gift. I have fuschia rhinestone flip-flops for them to wear after the wedding if they want, all sorts of bath stuff, lip gloss, nail polish, a fuschia sleep mask, a crotched shawl, lots of travel toiletry stuff, a little purse holder and a beautiful friend frame I was going to put a note on for them to save to use for a picture of us after the wedding that I will send them when I get them. There is lots more ''girly'' stuff in the bags, but you get the idea!
Since 3 of the 4 hostesses will be at the shower and driving home after, I thought it would be better to give them the bags at the shower and tell them to take whatever they want to Maui and leave the rest at home. For the 4th BM, I figured I would just lump the cost and ship her goodies to her so that she is thanked from afar, also.
Does this sound like a good enough thank you gift for their hosting the shower? We are keeping the shower really minimal and I am helping with the food to keep costs down, but I know they all want to make it special.
FI and I are also giving each person in our bridal party $400 to help w/travel costs and I am giving my girls their jewelry as a thank you at the Welcome Dinner in Maui.
What do you think?
Of course you can! I still have extra dresses, and I know they would look fantabulous on you!!!Date: 4/23/2008 11:29:39 PM
