Friends, I've fallen in love with a big, beautiful vintage YG band, with star-set rubies, about 10mm wide, and I'm trying to convince myself to make the purchase. Anyone have a big ol' band they want to show off? I know I can't be the only one into chunky rings!

What is your idea of wide?

Mine! Been wearing it a ton lately. 12mm wide, by MC2. Old pic. The second-widest band I've got is about 4mm - quite a jump

Wow you two ladies have nailed it - MC2 and Alex Sepkus? Get out of my brain! Love, love, love

I'm a "chunky chaser" too!
The VCA WG Perlee I got recently.
The YG Cartier Maillon Panthere band I had for a few years and sold.
The WG Cartier Nigeria I still have... it's a little snug now darn.
Lastly.. the YG Cartier multi stone band I just tried on at the NY JAWS show last fall.

I have this one from Alex Sepkus and been wearing it daily for close to 2 months. I love it 6E72F795-7C5D-4B58-BA93-A880831E9D30.jpeg

Moooooore photos please!!! I trawled your posts but didn’t find any - what a beauty!! Is it 18k? It’s holding up marvellously, looks brand spanking new in that pic.

I was an inch from buying one of his clasps last year. His designs are so unique… In the good, kooky-with-purpose way. I love your band!!

Mcteigue & McClellan (definitely misspelled) who are now out of business. Both of them opened their own separate places.
What she said!

And… Tim McClelland’s wildflower line is basically MCII part II… It’s every bit as stunning and I am every bit as covetous

@diamondyes here’s their website with links to their new sites!

It’s 18 k. I have only had it for 2 months and so far it held up great. But I have a thinner band from him (attached) that has gotten almost daily wear for almost 1 year and has no sign of wear. Also they can customize the stones to be any type/color you want! I love his designs 6EBE5B89-F355-46AD-A913-0C632A5741B6.jpeg

ETA: I have a friend who has this setting as her engagement ring and has had it for 5+ years. It looks amazing on her and can’t see any sign of wear

Chunky chaser

OMG your chunks are classic beauties!!! I should have guessed that you’d have a blow-it-away band collection Rubies!!

Wide bands can be harder to wear, I think. You wear them all with such poise. Really glamorous. Thank you for sharing all your glittery goodness

Thank you so very much Pomelo! The Nigeria ring was one of my first (and my largest) purchase ever on Ebay. From a lovely lady down south. It was discontinued a few years ago.. I don't think Cartier has replaced it with anything like it.

i love a wide band
i have short stumpy fingers
i dont care !
to my eye i find a wide band complments said short stubby fingers !

im so happy to see this thread @lala646

anyone got any retro or vintage wide bands to show ?

HI:

I adore wide bands! But I've had to get rid of most of them as my fingers steadily increase in size and the rings could not be resized. Good thing I didn't own an Buccellati as I'd be crying in my cheerios. Who knew?

cheers--Sharon
